We stayed at the Hilton in Costa Mesa and had coupons for complimentary Continental breakfast 2 mornings. The first morning we upgraded to hot buffet breakfast that included scrambled eggs, hash browns, bacon, sausage, oatmeal. The eggs were powered, the sausage tasted like cardboard and bacon was so-so. The oatmeal was homemade and was good! This breakfast cost $18.00 + tax. The second morning we ordered off the menu and was better choices getting fresh cooked food. My wife had omelet with hash browns and toast and I had eggs Benedict with hashbrowns and tomato slice and coffee. We both enjoyed these menu options!
Bristol Cafe surprised us as an excellent place for food. We loved it. Of course, it has always been a happy place for drinks.
Drinks are expensive and weak. They usually have girls on staff that will karaoke with you (for a fee). Atmosphere is decent but your bill is usually higher than you think it's going to be. Fun sometimes but your milage may vary
It is $80 a person per hour hostess bar. I am told that it's cheap. Some in Torrance is charging $250-$350 an hour per person. What you will get is free alcohol and a girl to _talk or sing Karaoke with_. For us a group of 4, it cost $320 plus $20(charges if the girls order something for themselves. One hostess orders wine.) . We are provided with a bottle of 750ml Chivas Regal and beer for each. We couldn't finish the whiskey. We cannot take the whiskey home. The bar is all about to have a good time experience with hostess(the trend preference is Japanese girl hostess) I have a dull conversation with a Japanese student girl hostess. My hostess does not walk me out when we leave the bar(to make custmers free appreaciated and to exchange contact so that they can ask the customer to come again!).
Interesting, many changes from years before. But was still fun.
