The food is great and the portions are HUGE. I used to come in on Thursday and have a spot of lunch as quiet time and a treat for myself. The man with the deep voice is always very friendly and accommodating, and a pleasant person. He would get my initial drink order.
The petite blond waitress isn't nice to me, so I stopped going to Brenda's. I needed a refill, and that waitress let me sit with nothing to drink and wash my food down for over half my meal while she happily served another table of men. She admitted she "forgot" my drink, even after walking past my table to get to the men several times.
The last straw was the look on her face when she saw me the last time I came in. Apparently, she doesn't like me and doesn't want to serve me. I'm not a difficult customer. I order off the menu, I don't ask for substitutions, I'm polite and I always give 20% tip. I guess she just doesn't like my face. So now I cook for myself at home and I don't endure her anymore. Shame, because the food is good.
Love this place. Staff is fantastic and service is always with a smile and the food is excellent with nice sized servings. Cinnamon rolls are the ????bomb! All you can eat catfish on Fridays. They are open for breakfast and lunch only. ???? I go there almost every time I am in Mountain Home.
A wonderful local spot for breakfast and lunch. The food was well prepared, tasty and delicious. It was also very well priced. The staff were friendly, helpful, and very positive. I highly recommend this restaurant when you are in Mountain View. PS. The Chef also smokes ribs sometimes!
Was hired here 2 years ago. Photos show my fav time right after setting up in the morn. Good owner, good boss and good food. I tend to rate a place on the simpler things like biscuits and gravy. If they care enough to make the cheaper dishes extra good, they will make the more expensive dishes extra good like the chicken fried steaks for example, which are created with care. Soft biscuits smothered in plenty of gravy, that's my go-to comfort food right there and this is the place to get it.
Great place for breakfast. You will not leave hungry; the portions are very generous. It has become our frequent brunch place when we visit Mountain Home.
Great place to eat. Prices are reasonable, food is good, and the portions of food are great. You will not leave being hungry and probably will have a takeout box when you leave. Lots of locals eat there, but everyone is treated like family.
We went to Brenda's Cafe about 7:45a on a monday and it wasn't very crowded. Our server was very nice and attentive. The food was super yummy. The pancakes were huge, and the grits were super good as well. It's the best breakfast joint around.
Needed some home cooking as we are visiting here, we found it! The menu is great with many choices, great prices, more than enough portions and the wonderful pleasant folks that work there made it that much more worth it. I had the hamburger steak platter and my daughter had the chicken fried chicken. I highly recommend stopping here if you're visiting, you won't be disappointed.
