Their are a couple of detractors that would want to steer clear of this place, and it's not the food. First is the slick floors. Considering you can almost fall by walking is an issue. Why would the floors be slick? Using the kitchen mop and mop water to mop the floors at the bathrooms and seating area.
The step leading into the restaurant and bar has a grip strip, so you won't slip stepping up, but the strip is not secured properly to the step and is a Hazzard. Be sure not to go to the restroom unless you like going in a closet. But wait, the closet has more room.
What offset the whole experience is their chicken. They do have excellent chicken. Mash potatoes could hove been a little more moist. If you do eat there, sit in the back. Every time the door opens, you get froze out, and your food will get cold.
Great German style food in a Bavarian like atmosphere. Small town atmosphere where everyone knows everyone; however visitors are treated like friends. Food, service and atmosphere were outstanding.
Grew up eating here, and now my wife and I live out of state. Any time we visit this area of Indiana, we always stop on by for the food! This place has spoiled me when it comes to fried chicken. It is the best fried chicken I've ever had. And the German style food is all delicious, along with the selection on German beer. Highly recommend
Good place to meet our daughter that lives in Cincinnati for Mother's Day. Will have to return because the food was good.
The sweet potato waffle fries with cinnamon and sugar were super yummy! Also had the double cheeseburger, best meat I've tasted in a while! Done perfectly - couldn't eat it fast enough. Very friendly and attentive.
My husband and I had the Sauerkraut balls as an appetizer and then split the schnitzel. It was delicious. I kinda wished we had got the mashed potatoes instead of the potato patties though, they were essentially just tator tots. The service was fast and friendly. Definitely we will drive back there again someday.
A small town restaurant in the historic town of Oldenburg- Brau Haus is an experience you don't really want to miss. Their food was delicious and the atmosphere was friendly and small-town. We felt welcome and enjoyed our time there.
Fried chicken, french fries, and beer on tap was excellent! Bartender and waitress were friendly and attentive. If you've never been here it should definitely be on your list of places to visit. Awesome all the way around.
