I didn’t actually get to try the much lauded food, because we were rudely turned away today when we went in for lunch. The mumbled excuse for this was that they were done serving lunch, even though it was before 1 o’clock and half the tables were empty. We ended up going next door, where we had a leisurely lunch, and when we came out … surprise-surprise, they were still serving lunch at the Tuileries… Honestly, I don’t know what to make of the whole thing. I’ve never been turned away from a restaurant in my life, not in any of the many countries I have visited. It left a bitter taste in my mouth, and unfortunately I will avoid Esneux in the future as a result.
