From the outside it looks like a great old bbq place. There is a big homemade smoker outside near the kitchen area. I believe it is for looks only. The pulled pork had no flavor and had to be drowned bbq sauce in order to eat it. My advice is to find someplace else to eat.
It might be pork but it is NOT barbecue. The meat was not smoked and not seasoned. It didn’t just lack flavor, it tasted bad and dry. The sides were all canned. If you want bbq, this ain’t it.
Mom ordered the $22 meal that has a pound of pork, slaw, beans and buns. It was not edible!! I’ve never in my life had BBQ that awful! I couldn’t even swallow the first bite. It did not taste like BBQ meat at all, I’m not sure what it taste like. Gross is all!! Mom called the next morning because she bought it later in the day and they had closed by the time I made it home to eat. They wouldn’t make it good. Didn’t offer another meal or anything. Bad business!!! Bad food!!!

It use to be good, now not so much! The meat is more like powder instead of good pieces of barbecued pork like most barbeque restaurants serve!! I took my wife there 2 years ago, we both said that we would not go back! 2 STARS is pushing it, but it's not bad enough for just 1 STAR!!!
Surprisingly good. Easily overlooked but well worth a visit or three.
Little BBQ joints are notorious for what some might call "inconsistencies". This place is no different. It is what it is... but unlike some BBQ recommendations... this place does actually have running water with indoor plumbing.
We are considering adding it back into our weekly lunch rotation.
If you like good BBQ and all the "yumminess" that comes along with it, (not to mention all the genuine southern hospitality) and if you like being around a crowd of kind and caring people, you're gonna love Bowles BAR-B-Q.
But don't take my word for it, hurry out to Bowles. You'll be glad you did. Met your new best friends and favorite eating place.
