This was next level!!! Got oxtails, and they were delicious. I'm originally from Cleveland, where the Jamaican bangs, but this food you could tell was intentional. Even the rice and peas had flavor. The meat pie was not lazy, and the crust was light and flaky. Got the festival as a side instead of plantain, which is a bread dumpling, and even that had flavor that went with the whole dish!!! This gotta be the best Jamaican in LA...
Finding good Jamaican food in LA can be difficult but this spot is definitely a new go to. The owner was kind enough to let us sample the oxtail, goat and jerk chicken before we chose our final meals and they were all delicious. I ordered a large curry goat (got it in a to go box because I knew I wouldn’t be able to finish it).
I will definitely be back again soon to try other items on the menu.
Dined in and ordered ackee&saltfish and a large fried chicken plate but ended up waiting 45 minutes and watched as everyone who came in after my partner and i got their food first. We anticipated a wait because of what we ordered but watched 5 plates of food get put out to people who came after us, one including a fried chicken plate to a couple that came around 20 minutes after us… After being given our food we were assured the extra wait was because of what we ordered and how it differed from others which would make sense if the fried chicken plate wasn’t put out before and the $34 ackee & salt fish portion wasn’t the same size as the sides it came with. Disappointed because we’ve been wanting to come here for a while but unfortunately were met with poor service & mediocre food
Jerk chicken was delicious, mac and cheese next level (especially hard to find good mac & cheese in LA ????), rice & peas was soooo good. Cant wait to come back.
The actual inside of the restaurant is so well designed and cozy. Beautiful place, definitely dont miss out!!
The jerk chicken and beef patties were amazing!!!! The jerk chicken was flavorful and moist with a nice char. Best I have found in LA!!!! Will definitely be coming back ????
My daughter wanted Jamaican food for her 13th birthday and let me tell you this place did NOT disappoint! From the jerk shrimp, jerk chicken, fried chicken, Mac & cheese, and the oxtail pasta!!! My youngest didn’t talk the entire time she ate her fried chicken & cleaned it down to the bone! I got the oxtail pasta and let me tell you, it’s life changing! My birthday girl LOVED the jerk chicken & rice and peas! Beautiful atmosphere & great service! We will be back the next time we come to LA!!!
Had the curried goat, rice & peas. Steamed cabbage, plantain & festival. Topped it off with a slice of black cake
Have to say I’m impressed! Do impressed with the flavor and tenderness of the goat I forgot to take a picture of the more than enough portions. True to Jamaican food service the portions are hefty. The service was very pleasant and I’ll be dining in rather than take out next time. They’ve done a nice setup of the place. I had the black cake for dessert….Amazing!!! The BEST I’ve had in LA in a very long time
I must say this the restaurant is 10/10 so beautiful and clean and the staff is so welcoming. But they have the best oxtail and jerk chicken in LA! Omg the oxtails so tender and juicy and the jerk chicken had flavor and I got the sauce on the side cause I already had oxtail gravy but that jerk sauce hitting omg thank you guys for being here and serving this amazing food that we needed in LA! This is my new Jamaican restaurant. Let’s not leave out they have options when it comes to sides rather then the typical steam cabbage????
