I really respect this place for keeping their lunch special at 4.99 in 2023 even though everyone is raising their prices and blaming inflation (the ingredients themselves aren’t 200% more expensive!)
That is a smart move that keeps this place busy. However they could put less salt and more spice in their jerk chicken, curry chicken, and oxtail gravy. Tastes like they’re covering up old chicken by putting so much salt in there. And I’ve had so much better cabbage, sorry but this tasted like nothing.
The chicken curry patty was A+ though.
3 stars because you still can’t beat the price. If they adjusted their recipes they could be great.
Best jerk in the Atlanta area. My spouse and I get oxtail here every single time we are anywhere in the area and it's always our favorite part of any trip. We love about ten hours away from this spot but have taken weekend trips and stopped here because we love it so much. It is melt-in-your-mouth, mellow yet at the same time packed with savory flavor, luxurious. If I could give the place six stars I would. Also make sure to grab a tropical rhythms or ting while you're there to have with your meal ????
Great flavor on the jerk chicken but I didn't get much chicken on the large order and it was anlittle dry. Cabbage could be more flavorful. Delightful customer service but par for the course if you know what I mean.(they take their time)
I paid $13 even for a small curry chicken plate. The rice was hard as in it was not done! , the chicken had a good flavor not enough gravy, and the cabbage is absolutely horrible. No flavored and it has mixed vegetables in it when I say its not near seasoned, they can do a lot better they give you a lot of food but it’s not good
Use to be one of my favorite spot over the years. It's been a while since I came back. I order the jerk pork but they game me jerk chicken. I did look at the order when I got the food cause it was already bagged up. I drive an hour back home and find its jerk chicken. I called them letting the know the situation mean old lady got on the phone started questions everything. After I prove that I order pork and they messed up, she tell me to put the jerk chicken in the refrigerator and bring it back to show proof. Well lady here your proof I took a picture of it. Bad customers service. I'm done with this place. I had to end up stop another Jamaican spot that better they offer beef patties with Mac and cheese with oxtail in Coco bread at Kingston's Caribbean restaurant 2100 Candler Rd Suite B, Decatur, GA 30032. Trust me you won't be disappointed.
It was my first time visiting and I must say that I will be going back a lot more because I am sold on their ideas and experience. It was refreshing. Social distancing at its best and all was well. The place is neat. The food was delicious and you have a variety of beverages to chose from. As most Caribbean food place, know what you are ordering before you step in line. If you don’t, don’t take their response personal. Just trying to serve the next person especially if there is a long line.
Me and my family used to come here a lot! My sister even worked here for a minute! My dad and I would always get the jerk pork! I live in Dacula now but I was passing by the area and stopped because I haven’t had it in years! The food tasted great, but the customer service today was horrible! I don’t know who the lightskinned older chick is but they need to replace her! She was arguing with everyone! The first guy argued that she didn’t give him extra gravy and she stated that he didn’t ask for it! The lobby was pack and we all heard him order extra curry gravy! They went back and forward for a minute. I finally got my food and realized that I didn’t have my oxtail gravy on my rice! She stated you didn’t ask for it! And everyone in the lobby started laughing because they heard me ask for it! Even on my receipt it said xtra gravy! She stated it say extra gravy not oxtail! Ma’am you rung it up! I have no control over that and I don’t have any extra gravy in the bag! My mother was on the phone with me and heard me say oxtail gravy also! I told her that she’s the problem! Everyone isn’t lying on her! She’s not ringing up the food properly and calling everyone a liar! She stated I never said that and she knows it! I will never come back here! I will never spend my money where they can’t take accountability in their mistakes!
I ordered jerk chicken. The order came with jerk sauce on the side that didn’t taste like jerk sauce. I’m very disappointed.I don’t normally do google reviews but I’m really not happy with my order. I don’t know what this is, if it’s baked or smoked chicken. It’s definitely not jerk. This is not what we call jerk chicken in Jamaica.I should’ve looked before leaving.
