This was our first time getting food from here. We ordered takeout. The food was ready very quickly, the service at the counter was exceptional, and everything was prepared correctly. It also looked like a pretty neat place for a meal. Unfortunately, the food could have been better. Well nothing particular was wrong, it just wasn't remarkable. The macaroni and cheese was pretty bad. I would not turn down a gift card to them, and I don't know I would make it a point to go back.
Purchased the large family meal for almost $90.
It was 1/4 chicken short, family size sides were pints, French fries barely covered the bottom of the container. I’m assuming it was a full pound of turkey and brisket. And there were eight pieces of toast. Just disappointing to spend that much for what seems to be so little. Honestly, the food is really good but way too much for what we got.
Large Brisket Platter with Large Sides: Plate was not full, the toast was burned, sides were a regular size and the meat was extremely fatty - only 3 good pieces. Waste of $25 and disappointment upon delivery. Manager did not offer apology and told me I could request refund with UberEats.
The brick oven from BONO'S overcame me, all the way from across the parking lot, at Office Depot, and drew me to this place! I was not even hungry and never, in thirty years, have I stopped for bar-b-que, I much more prefer Mexican.
Anyway, the smell was killer, I stopped in, to check this amazing place out.
Immediately, the thick smoked smell in the atmosphere, the giant brick oven with big burnt walls and big chunks of meat, some still stewing, some being strewn around and chopped by the "Pit Boss", not just any Pit Boss, but by Geoffrey Pit Boss "Fry Daddy", a local Icon.
I watched this crew in action and their relationship with the locals, pretty good stuff, and everybody seemed to get pretty well stuffed.
I had three ribs, baked beans and slaw, all excellent. Next time I will go for the brisket, outer cut...maybe??
You guys have to check this place out and let Fry Daddy know that Captain Timbo, from Jacksonville sent you over for the Special.
We are in Jacksonville for work and we stopped here for dinner. My husband was a little nervous because bbq can easily suck. This place is amazing!!! Better than Sonny’s in my opinion. Our server Kayla was great and on top of everything!
The only thing that wasn’t great was the bread. We only spent $53 bucks too!
My husband and I stopped here because I was extremely hungry with a headache and wanted a salad. I am not a first-time customer to Bono's nor this location. I ordered a three meats salad, and my husband ordered a large two meats platter. We received our order quickly upon arriving to the window. We had an impromptu dinner date after grabbing the food at a park further away. I realized that after mixing my salad, there were only two meats in my salad. Brisket and turkey. I called and informed the restaurant that the young lady who answered didn't show any empathy. The "compromise" was to bring the salad back for them to see it. ???????? I explained to her I was not able to return to the location and I could send a picture right then. I simply asked for the difference back. She wouldn't budge. My husband was very dissatisfied with his food. It was his first time eating from there. The meats were bland. The only thing to do was cover it in the sauces we asked for. Very poor customer and tasteless food. I don't care how hungry I am, I would never stop in there again.
While doing a little shopping in J-ville today with my oldest daughter we stumbled across this wonderful BBQ place. We only waited a little while but once we got a table the server was very kind and polite. The food was Amazing starting with the fried okra. It was perfect. The ribs were moist and seasoned perfectly. The chicken was equally tender and moist. The beans and the Mac and cheese were on point. I’m looking forward to coming back soon. Visit a location near you. You won’t be disappointed I assure you.
Ordered through delivery, delivery was fast but didn't get sauce or my drink, brisket was AWFUL all fat and didn't even look done. Corn nuggets and fries were good. Never had an issue until now.
