To start off with, we had a party of 12, made a reservation one week+ in advance for 9:15 PM on a Friday night. This was to celebrate a high school graduation.
We called on our way to the reservation and were told that we weren't going to be able to sit early. No big deal. 9:15 rolls around and it becomes very apparent that they have sat a large party at our table with no time constraints.
It took 10 minutes past 9:15 for them to decide they were going to ask the table to leave since they had been sitting there for hours.
It was disappointing to say the least. If you have a large party and you agree to seat them, please take proper protocols to ensure table turn over accordingly.
No one expects you to hold an empty table until a late large party reservation; however, it should be made clear that there are time limits during peak hours. Plenty of places do this and it is effective.
The manager avoided eye contact, didn't apologize, comp any of our drinks or meals, didn't ask us how our food was, etc. I would understand this behavior from general wait staff, but not from someone running a restaurant.
They didn't bring us to the table to sit they just gestured for us to sit ourselves. We waited an additional 10 minutes for water or any drink order and about 5 or so more for them to take our food order.
The waitress was kind and unproblematic. We also are very empathetic and understand that the food industry or any service industry is tough to work in, especially post covid, but you can't charge $15 for cocktails and on average close to $30 an entree and treat your guests poorly. People will simply get the picture or not come back. Loyalty is everything these days, or "tourism" since we're in FL.
The food came out late, over an hour from sitting and granted we were a table of 12. They forgot a flatbread and served rare steak when requested medium. This is not the waitstaff's issue but a kitchen issue.
Luckily the food quality and food was decent. After asking around, everyone was surprisingly pleased with their food. I would give it a 4/5 and the service a 1/5 if I could do them separately.
Unless management changes a beat, I will not be recommending this place to others or be coming back.
We are Sarasota natives and would love to support local, but we will take our business elsewhere next time.
Do not go here for a celebration or gathering, as you will be treated as if your dollars are guaranteed and do not matter.
Also not sure if this is a party joint a wannabe club or what. Very loud and they purposely turned the music up towards the end of our dinner, we're assuming trying to signal the 6 tables left to leave? Just not professional.
I got the Chopped salad with chicken. It was okay. Portion kinda small for close to 25 bucks. Waitress did not smile one time and did not replace the drink my friend asked for a correction on. My friend had to go fix it herself. Atmosphere was fine for a Saturday night, but maybe the waitress was having a rough night, I don't know. Healthy food, nice location, the service was a massive turn off for me. Hopefully everyone else that goes has a nice time.
Brussels sprouts were surprisingly good. The Parmesan truffle fries and lobster wontons were just okay.
For entrees, we ordered the sweet potato gnocchi (very good- recommend!), scallops (very good- recommend!), skirt steak, ribeye, and the staff meal.
The steak options were just okay. Not enough skirt steak to fill you up. I’m unsure why there are so many reviews on the skirt steak. Mediocre at best.
STAFF MEAL DISAPPOINTMENT- I don’t know who the chef was that thought pasta and chicken was a good choice for a surprise recipe for the staff meal. Extremely disappointed. The staff meal is described as, “Ingredient-driven chef’s creation with whatever’s locally available. Just order it. Chef says you’ll love it.” …??? The waitress even said, “it’s a good one today…” HOW? It was a child’s meal. No flavor whatsoever. Nice to know the wheat for the pasta was locally available lol. Not a single creative idea on that plate. They should be disappointed in themselves for throwing together something so simple and saying you’ll love it.
Had a great experience here with the fiancé! The food is farm to table and is exquisite. We had the brie & apple flatbread, skirt steak, and truffle fries which were incredible! The only downside is their garlic bread, which I feel could be made to similar quality at home. Another area for improvement is providing a unique sauce with appetizers, ketchup and mayo at this price point just seem odd. Their potatoes and brussels sprouts were fantastic and had a delicious sauce with them.Will definitely be returning for their short rib meal which looks savory. Definitely worth a stop!
Brie and apple flatbread had a really nice flavor. Zucchini fries tasted fresh
Taylor, the waitress was fantastic. I had the Cuban. I would give that a four star. My friend had the blackened chicken. She said it was amazing. The truffle fries are really good.
…coming here regularly and always amazed at the food, always fresh and perfectly seasoned. Today I had a standard Caesar salad with grilled shrimp, my semi-healthy go-to, and it was exceptional. I would also highly recommend the “staff meal”, always amazing and reasonably priced.
Calamari was over fried and there was little to no calamari, explanation given was that these were the leftovers from frying, unfortunately along with the overcooked junk, there were 4 pieces of calamari on the plate
Beer was still…., not a little bit of foam
After approaching the bartender he quickly explained that the carbonation machine was down, offered a bottle, which is fine, but why would you serve a cold beer without any foam, you either don’t care about your customers, or you are just totally incompetent?????????
Overall, 1 star review, the server with his well mannered appearance managed to earn his tip

Unfortunate thing, because it’s a great location and great atmosphere, lousy management I suppose, just a note though
