Our server was very nice, which was the only good part of our visit to the Waverly Bob Evans on the morning of May 9th.
After we ordered it took at least 30 minutes, more like 40, for our food to be delivered to our table. The restaurant was only at about 30% capacity. We questioned why it took so long so our server directed the manager to our table. She said the issue was a new cook that seemed to be having issues keeping up. She offered a discount, which I declined.
I ordered pancakes and bacon. The bacon was cooked to order but the pancakes were undercooked in the middle. Our server stopped by and asked if everything was ok and I told her about the pancakes so she asked the manager to come to our table again. Again, the manager put all of the blame on the new cook. I then questioned management on why they would have an employee preparing food for customers that was not ready to do the job in an efficient, safe manner. Maybe management should hold themselves a bit more accountable in ensuring employees are properly trained and then periodically check to make sure undercooked food is not leaving the kitchen and that orders are getting processed in a timely manner.
In my opinion, our bad experience falls directly on management and their refusal to accept accountability to ensure their employees are properly trained and ready to perform their tasks!!
Incompetent, uncaring is the only way to describe this location. Food looked like slop. That’s supposed to be the piggy pancake. Needless to say my daughter was extremely disappointed
My worst experience with Bob Evans. I came into town to visit family and took them out to lunch. I have never been more dissatisfied. We were seated almost immediately at a dirty table the server was asked to clean, but this never happened. I finally asked a server who is taking care of us after 10 minutes gone by. A lady took our drink and food order and was still sitting at the same table 15 minutes later with no water. I asked another lady who was taking care of us. I was told my server was new. I explained that you don't leave customers at a table after taking drink orders and food orders and not coming back. Another lady finally took our drink and food order again. We had to ask for refills, and they didn't come. After almost 2 hours, we finally were able to leave with food in our bellies.
It was a party of 3 of us. We almost walked out of your restaurant, and we were overheard, and then the manager finally came out. The restaurant was dirty and we explained our customer service and I felt like I was brushed off and the manager didn't want to listen because she walked away from me and went back to the office, I believe.
Please have someone talk to your staff and ask the servers to please do the best they can to take care of their customers. When I see no empathy in employees for a company, that is scary to know. I am very hesitant about stopping into this location again the next time I come to town to visit because this has always been our go-to restaurant for years.
My wife and I stopped for breakfast, and the meal was hideous. Old nasty black grease from the grill in my eggs, bread served as toast, and the kicker was the big gray hair cooked in my wifes pancakes. Disturbing and disgusting at the same time. This place needs a health inspector to look it over. Never have been served such slop food in my life. DO NOT PATRONIZE THIS BOB EVANS. Corporate should be ashamed of themselves.
The waitress was amazing! Especially with how extremely busy they were! The food is ok, the two biscuit sandwiches were very lack luster, my eggs were over cooked, the potatoes were probably the best thing I ate. Great place to come and hangout with a large group!
Only 1 server taking care of the entire dining room, not acceptable! She was trying her hardest to keep up but she was setup for failure. And we ordered breakfast items which should only take 15 mins max and we’re still waiting after 45 minutes.
I ordered the deep dish chicken noodle and French fries. French fries were worse than fast foods...cold and soggy and I had 24 of them for 2.99!
Deep dish chicken noodles...not one chunk of chicken, probably 12 to 15 noodles. Mashed potatoes were good. I paid 12.99 for that! Please fill up the carryout container with food or get smaller containers. Visual is everything.
Waited 10 minutes to get seated then finally when we did not one person acknowledged us and it was dead. The place looked filthy trash all over the floor. Tired of giving them chances. Don’t wast your time.
