I'm not sure why on every bad review upper management blames there staff. Take some responsibility for your company. WOW. Sounds like an upper management issue to me.
Now for my review on the Byron location staff and food.
When I arrived the 2 staff members up front greeted me right away stopping what they were doing to come take my order. They were very very friendly and helpful with all my questions. They made sure that when I asked for extra toppings that there was enough to my liking. They also recommend things that I did not even know they had. (Garlic mayo). Thanks for that the g mayo is awesome. We ordered 3 full subs and got exactly what we wanted.

Really good submarine sandwich ???? ????
They have the gobba gool, and it is authentic! Real deep flavorful cuts and not skimpy on the portions. I find the other submarine shops in town lack those deep flavor notes. If you "go rouge," they will oil, season, and toast the sandwich. Wow, is that a flavor booster ???? ???? ????.

Ordered 2 subs... literally said not toasted and they toasted it. The second sub was left on the grill and came out super burnt. The employee threw it away without even asking then complained about making a new one. Then made the new one wrong. Save your money and go somewhere else. Plenty of other sub shops around.
Son wanted pizza lunch while we were driving past. Thought we'd get a pizza sub faster than a pizza. I chit chatted with workers as they made it (interesting toasting and seasoning technique). They knew it was for my son in the car, so I was dismayed when I saw the amount of marinara oozing out the sides and imagined a mess. I was a little peeved walking out of the store.
Kiddo took one bite and said it was amazing. Second bite and he said it was the best bread he's ever had. And he was able to eat it without it going all over. Sorry for doubting you, dear sandwich makers. Thank you.
Wasn't until after I paid that I noticed they were using the gross pre sliced bag pickles. I come for the good shredded pickles. Now my number 8 taste like a mcdouble ????
Their subs are incredible - especially when you order them Rogue. Their staff is super friendly and helpful. Prices are on the high end, but the quality is there.
We love boardwalk subs and this location is no different in terms of food quality and service. I've not had a bad sub from the list. Only complaint is the last two times we've been to this Byron Center location the "smoke" from whatever the grills or whatever is causing it was unbearable. I've never seen this before from other locations so not sure about the exact cause but A) I feel for the workers themselves and having to stay in that environment for long hours and B) caused my wife and I to not stay and eat inside and ended up eating in our car in parking lot which was a bummer as we were out on a date. First time I chalked it up to maybe it was just something from that day but now that I've noticed it the last two times there it must be something consistent? I'd love to see it addressed so people might actually want to use the dining area.
The two gentlemen that helped my boyfriend and I order our subs were extremely helpful and made wonderful recommendations. They made our first experience fantastic. We will be back, thank you!
