Best WLM Reviews

Bluewater Bistro never disappoints! I have visited this restaurant three times since its reopening under new owners last fall and each time both the service and food have been excellent. We have ordered drinks, appetizers, entrees and desserts and everything has been great. The Bruschetta is the best I've had anywhere, and the Caesar salad is a unique take on a classic with the addition of pasta and homemade croutons. The tenderloin was a perfectly prepared medium rare, well-seasoned, and a generous portion at a reasonable price. The Whitefish is also excellent. I look forward to future visits and seeing live music this summer.
Great local upscale atmosphere, phenomenal service, and amazing food. Pizza pub/brewery meets farm to table dining experience. Went in for pizza but had a larger group so went the bistro route for the additional seating options. Everyone loved the food and I had the ribs which were perfectly cooked with a delicious barbecue sauce. Just moved to the area and this will likely be our local date night spot.
Fantastic pizza! Crust is very light and flaky. Cheese, toppings, and sauce are all top quality. Cheesy bread is also top notch!
Had a wonderful dinner last night. First time back since new ownership. Rose one of the owners took care of us with enthusiasm and a genuine smile. I had the fish special and my husband had a beef dish. Both were delicious. Will definitely be returning. With so few nice options in this area I am thrilled to add Blue Water Bistro to my list of options.
I got to go in during a soft opening night. My husband is from the area but we are in no way related to the owners by friend or family.... We just called to ask if they had dine-in and because some of the owners' friends hadn't come in, they said they would be happy to have us.
The food was great!! I went to this place last summer and wasn't completely sold on it because it was basically just pizzas and subs, which isn't really my thing. I really wanted some good stuff that could be local like some fish, beef, or other produce. This new menu did not disappoint! They started us out with some amazing garlic bread that we got to dip in olive oil with herbs. I got the panko crusted walleye with garlic butter caper sauce, fingerling potatoes, and green beans. My husband got the pepper encrusted steak tenderloin (real name is French I can't pronounce) with cheddar potatoes and green beans. Everything was cooked well and seasoned to perfection. I don't know how they did it but my fish stayed hot to the last bite. I could eat those potatoes every day! The green beans were still slightly crunchy and fresh tasting just the way I like them. Lots of other stuff on the menu looks good too so I'll have to come back (beer based ribs, you're next!!).
The drinks were tasty and fast. I got a margarita (which was yum!!), and then said bartender's choice something fruity.... No idea what it was but it looked like the water of torch lake and was also very tasty. They don't really have a drink menu, but they have a full bar. I'm not very well versed in mixed drinks, so if I were to critique one thing it would be that I'd love to see a mixed drink menu to help me decide.
Had the tenderloin and the ribs. The tenderloin was incredibly overcooked. I ordered it rare and it came well done. All you could taste in the entire dish was pepper. Mashed potatoes were mostly partially cooked lumps of potatoes. Ribs were ok but not great. Service was pretty sad overall, unfortunately. We saw our sever maybe three times total and it wasn't even busy in the restaurant. Maybe 6 tables. We were never offered another drink nor given an opportunity to ask. Hostess was not very friendly either.
The food was priced much higher than it should be for what it was. I was served tortilla chips with a grilled cheese sandwich, instead of potato chips, which was odd. I asked for salsa and was told they do not carry salsa or any ketchup. One of my family members ordered a whitefish entree and it was way too salty. The service was also relatively hands off.
delicious pizza! finally found some great pizza - only took 4 yrs.
our only problem is we live a little too far to just come and take out, we need to eat there.
Greatly appreciate that they let us dine in this time as we were there right at 4:00.
Can’t wait to go back!
