Best WLM Reviews
I made the unfortunate decision to go for barbecue for the first time in years, and to say I'm disappointed would be an understatement. I used to love picking up food here, but the quality and value have clearly decreased over the years. These portions are embarrassingly small, especially when items are forgotten (like the garlic toast). Beyond that, the food isn't nearly as good as it used to be, either; bland, oversalted, and dry.
I used to come here regularly, but I likely won't be returning. The money spent is just too much for food this poorly executed.
Visited this BBQ last week, and I have to say April, the owner is a sweetheart of a lady. Southern hospitality at its finest.
We ordered the ribs, which were fantastic. Please note that the ribs are not slathered in barbecue sauce. All homemade BBQ sauces are offered on the side. I really appreciate BBQ that isn't covered in sauce, kinda lets you know you're getting a quality product not bathed in a sauce.
I also appreciate the fact that everything is made fresh in-house every day.
I would recommend this establishment if you're in the area.
As a local at one time we ate here often. We decided to try it again after the remodel. It's a great remodel, but, the food is not the same. The portions are very small and the prices aren't. We spent $36 for a sandwich with onion rings and a pork plate. There may have been a quarter of a cup of BBQ on my sandwich. You tasted more bun than BBQ as you will see in the picks. Sorry, I won't be back.
Decided to stop by since new ownership and wasn't impressed for $46 for a very small meal for husband and I.( also chicken salad to go) His brisket was greasy and grey not smoked. The very small cup of Mac n cheese was tasteless. Sadly better off to spend the money elsewhere. You definitely had better food and quantity before.
Some of the most tender and tasty barbecue I've had to date. Went here because the Pink Pig in Cherry Log was closed and I'm glad I came. Prices are a tiny bit high for the side-portions being the size they are, but you can't really blame the business, as supply costs are through the roof right now. The ladies running the business are sweethearts and I'll definitely be going back.
What’s not to love? The place smells great. The fried pork skins are awesome. Two thumbs up on the BBQ sandwich. Smoked sausage links are fantastic.
Let me be clear here, I'm not generally the type of person that goes out of their way to leave reviews. But after my visit to this place, I had tell the world some way. Word of mouth just doesn't do it. I feel like I should climb to the tallest peek of the tallest mountain and inform the world the amazing brisket sandwich I had from this place. Everyone that has asked me about our trip to #BlueRidgega I've told about this place and more specifically, that sandwich. It was a perfect combination of tenderness and crispness, the smoke flavor on top of whatever kind of homemade concoction they use to bring out the flavor inside that meet is beyond my ability to put into words. I devoured my first one and then asked for seconds. I couldn't get enough of that flavor. The employees there graciously helped me with my new addiction that is they're brisket. I will return to Blue Ridge if not for anything else but their brisket sandwich. I hope this review makes it out into the world and help all those people out there questioning where to go for lunch. Brisket... it's what's for dinner breakfast and lunch maybe.
Photo is adult size portion of the brisket sandwich I received. Portion sizes are TINY!! The meat portions were the same size as the kids menu sandwich. Brisket was mostly fat on one sandwich which any good brisket has fat, but not a majority. The gal who took my payment via debit arc was wearing food prep gloves and didn’t seem to change them. She didn’t prepare my food but shows their cleanliness practices.
Their smoker is propane based, and I bet they only throw in pellets or chips to encourage flavor unlike a true smoker.
