Best WLM Reviews

I stopped in about 3pm, so a bit early (but the benefit of getting lunch prices!).
It's a seasonal, local market restaurant and I had high hopes.
Unfortunately, while the server was friendly enough--the food was kinda meh.
The eggs and salad were fairly decent, the salmon was way overcooked (so it was rather tough and dry and it wasn't as flavorful as it should have been) although the veggies were pretty good. The beet cake was interesting but they forgot the basil sauce until I asked--plus, it really needed some other flavors to balance with the rather bland cake (perhaps, rather than a dollop of cream, some vanilla bean ice cream and a bit of tang to the sauce).
Went for restaurant week on a Saturday. Service was lacking. I walked in was the only person there waiting for the host. Employees kept walking by and looking but no one said a word. By the time someone walked up to the host stand to help there was a line of 10 people standing at the door. Even though, I was literally the first person standing there, helped and seated two other groups standing behind me before even looking at me. Finally got to tell her that we have a reservation (which I just heard one of the other groups standing behind me say they did not have reservations) and I was told it would be a few minutes. Really not sure the point of a reservation on this day. Finally got to a table and then had to wait again for a server to bring drinks and order. I want to tell everyone the place was packed when we walked in but it wasn’t. I want to tell you they were short staffed but there were employees running around everywhere. Then in the middle of our meal had an employee walk up and ask us if we had made a reservation. Not to make fun but I felt like I was in La La land. Maybe it was just this particular day. I think they have an interesting regular menu. We ended up doing the pre-set menu. The first course the salad was delicious, wanted to lick the plate, and is the last salad listed on the main menu. The second course was a chicken corstata. It tasted fine. Served on a big plate by itself, Looked odd. I wanted to ask if that’s the way it was supposed to be served. At this point I didn’t have it in me to go down that road. The dessert course I did not care for. It was a cute muffin but not flavorful. I know it’s a boutique kind of restaurant and the goal is to be unique. But this day it wasn’t connecting. That being said I would still recommend that you try Blue Bird. The menu looked creative with lots of tasty options.
The food and drinks were delicious! Our bar tender was fantastic too! We stayed for 3 hours and loved the no rush atmosphere.
Buffalo was delicious!
I recently dined at Blue Bird Bistro and was thoroughly impressed. The friendly service from the moment I walked in made me feel right at home. The menu showcased a delightful array of dishes prepared with fresh ingredients that burst with flavor. Cocktails – skillfully crafted and utterly delicious. Blue Bird Bistro is a must-visit for those who appreciate both top-notch service and a culinary experience that embraces quality ingredients and creative libations.
This place is wonderful and the food was fresh just like advertised. I got the chicken and biscuit while my wife got the frech toast. The prices were good and I would recomend coming here for breakfast
Best way to explain this experience is to create a visual. Who remembers the movie ratatouille? And that moment the food critic tastes the dish that takes him to his childhood memories... what an experience from the crisp slightly sweet yet slighy sour fried Green tomatoes, to a chicken dish with so many wonderful aromas that my taste buds experienced the meal before it entered my mouth. Loved it!
The atmosphere was absolutely lovely. A very ambient setting. Everything I love… warm and cozy with a dim light.
My spouse got the salmon dish and it was wonderful. The polenta was amazing so he said.
I am Paleo, gluten-free, and dairy free. I was informed that the bison pot roast dish met all of my needs. However, it was not edible as the owner had come over to the table to let us know, after my complaining, that the chef had overheated the bison , and failed to put it in the Ajou sauce, while heating it up. Knowing this before bringing it out to my table, I wish they would’ve had the chef heat the bison up correctly so that I was not disappointed. It was so tough that I could not even chew it or cut it with a knife.
They did bring a piece of salmon out, bit it was also very overcooked.
We’ll try it again, in hopes that the food will better meet our standards.
Joined a friend for brunch and the food was amazing! Our omelets were perfect. The combination of three cheeses was delicious. If we lived locally, I would want to eat here all the time. The vibe in this place is wonderful - cozy and rustic - and the food tastes so fresh. Hoping to return!
