Best WLM Reviews
The building has a great presence and the interior is open, though looks a little sparsely decorated up front.
I was there with about 50 people and while I would expect things to get hectic the service was inconsistent at best. They weren't worried, though, because with such a large group they charged their own gratuity. Then they charged us a convenience fee for using a credit card. (This is a first I have seen at what is supposed to be a nicer restaurant).
My family ordered a beer, 3 waters and 4 meals between $16 & $20. With tax, automatic gratuity, and convenience fee it was nearly $100.
The food was mediocre. The Greek salad had about 1/2 a red onion in it and when I asked for oil and vinegar they brought me Italian dressing. My boys ordered soup that was supposed to come with the meal and they never got it and the catfish was dinky. I'm adding a picture of the $16 catfish platter.
I think a 3 out of 5 is generous. Our group is unlikely to return until we hear they have worked all the kinks out of the system
Update: 2/5/24: We went again today for an early Valentine meal. I ordered two of the Street Tacos. Both were so spicy that neither I or my husband could eat them and he loves spicy food.
It was so spicy that my mouth and lips were burning from the spice. We ended up just leaving the un-ate tacos at the table when we left. I have had pico de gallo before at other places and never had a problem eating it until today. My husband who eats all kinds of spicy food couldn't take a bit without his mouth burning. What a disappointing early Valentine meal. ///// Our first time going to Blu; it won't be our last; so many things we still want to try on the menu. We went mid afternoon and only one other table there. The Frickles came out quickly and were yummy with a Southwest Ranch dipping sauce that had a bit of a bite. I had the steak & shrimp that came out just the way I ordered it and it was great. Hubby had the Hawaiian Burger and he was in love with it as soon as he tasted it. It too was cooked just the way he wanted it. If you are into chocolate; make sure to give the Chocolate Martini a try; it was sinfully good! The price on the martini was certainly within reason and not overkill. Our server was Lloyal and he did a great job with our service; he was attentive and was able to answer our questions. He gave us the right amount of service and was easy to speak too and knowledgeable. All in all; we had a relaxing meal. Make sure to give them a try.
Second visit to Blu Restaurant & Bar in Junction City and it's still my favorite! The interior's unique, historical charm complements the incredibly flavorful food perfectly. A must-visit for anyone looking for an unforgettable dining experience. It's the best in the city, hands down!"
We have been a few times to Blu now. The service has been great and the food very flavorful. We have ordered a number of the street tacos, including the Bourbon Glazed Salmon, the Shrimp and bacon. From the entree side, we have ordered the Shrimp Dinner, and for dessert we have ordered the Caramel Butter Toffee Cake. For some reason we have failed to take pictures of the dishes with the exception of the Toffee Cake. We will make Blu a normal stop to eat in town.
Excellent food and beautiful atmosphere. I bought my wife here on a date and the service was absolutely phenomenal. The Mango Martini and Chocolate martini were great. The food was well presented and exceeded any expectations. Great value! Highly recommend! I will definitely return in the future!
Love the brick building. Overall food was good. I would not recommend dessert as the pie and cake come from Walmart and they charge $7 a piece for it.The service was great, had an awesome waitress!
Definitely recommend checking this place out. The food was so delicious, the service was wonderful, and the atmosphere was so nice. Can’t wait to go back and try this place again. Impressed, especially on a busy night like Valentine’s Day. Five stars! Found my new favorite in JC.
I had the best German Jägerschnitzel with mashed potatoes and a salad. It was so delicious and portions were very big. The Schnitzel was as good as I remember from back home in Germany. The service was great and atmosphere is amazing. Jordan is one of the owners and so welcoming and nice. Blu is my new favorite restaurant. I loved it.
