I have been following @homerunballerina from Santa Fe for sometime, and when my friends told me they were building a house down the road aways, I knew, on my recent trip, that we had to visit! Having been in that biz, I was astonished at the quality & complexity of the fare produced by just TWO people! Not enough room here to describe each dish - everything was fantastic! This is THE destination point in the town of Canaan, CT! Saludos!

Very sweet place! Limited menu, but what they do offer is fresh, well prepared and tasty food. I’m so glad we found it.

It was my wife and my 37th anniversary. My wife loves butternut squash ravioli so I searched and searched for restaurants that had it on their menu. I finally found Blackberry River Bisto listed it as a special back in September so I wrote to see if it was going to be offered again. I didn't really expect to hear back, but Audry respond and offered to make them for us on our visit to the area. The atmosphere was simple elegant, and wonderful, the staff was so kind and courteous and the food was absolutely excellent! My wife was thrilled, I was the hero, but all the credit goes to Audry and her husband, they truly made our special day even more memorable. Thank you!!

What a gem! Food was simply exceptional. Small unique menu, each dish was created with care and full of flavor. Super friendly and welcoming environment. Can’t wait to come back, truly.

Awesome affordable scratch kitchen with a diverse menu and fun specials. Greatly appreciated the numerous gluten free options!

Absolute must-go in the area. Total gem of a small biz restaurant with excellent food. We had the soba(?) wheat noodles with pork and shrimp pad Thai, best flavors out of this world. Had the NZ Shiraz and it was the healthiest pour I’ve ever had. Finished with a smooth and scrumptious key lime pie! Will be back whenever we are nearby for racing at Limerock. I need to try the other items on the menu. Small place and nice and quiet. We loooooved it and grateful to have found it. You. Must. Go.

Wow. Food was phenomenal. I got the Bistro Kale Caesar with Chicken Carnitas and the Banh Mi Bowl. Both meals were amazing. Wouldn’t change anything. Owners were super nice and the service was great. I wish I didn’t live over an hour away so that I could come here more often. No complaints. Seems like the type of place where everything on the menu is amazing and you can’t go wrong. 5 Stars.

Little slow on service/ not the most accurate wait times for take out orders. Otherwise everything is delicious, especially their desserts and small batch offerings. Interior decor is very cute.
