Ordered food and an appetizer. Appetizer came out fast but food wasn’t served until 40 minutes after ordering it. We also watched 5 separate tables sat after us get their food before us, even a couple that sat down got their food after 15 minutes (yes I timed it because I was getting annoyed). Once we did get our food we noticed that the burgers cheese looked like it was melted and sat for 20 minutes and hardened again and the other sandwich cheese had the same problem. Both of our fries were cold and interesting enough the ranch sauce had a layer of film on top of it. We concluded that the most obvious reason for all of this (especially the ranch) is that it was cooked on time but sat somewhere for at least 20 minutes. To back up this statement I work as a line cook at a restaurant and I know how this looks. Finally to seal the case both of us have had very bad stomach aches and bad experiences on the toilet since. Its a shame this restaurant is in a very good spot and its ruined by the experience.
Nice bar restaurant atmosphere with limited outside dining tables. Music plays in the background. Some parts a little loud. Updated with high table bars and stools. I'm vertically challenged so I needed a little help climbing up.
They can open up the side windows doors for a nice breeze during the spring and summer months. There's a few games/activities there to play.
The food was delicious. I had the Southwest Burger and it was worth it. The fries were delicious.
It wasn't too crowd on a Sunday afternoon but it was Mother's Day. Nice place to eat. You'll have an enjoyable time. The staff was courteous and friendly.
We decided on this place because we could get in. We were greeted promptly. Our server was fantastic!! Great personality, friendly and responsive. It seemed as she and another gentleman were the only servers working. Once our order was placed it took over 45 minutes to get our food. Once the food was brought the fries were cold. Not warm. Not hot! Cold. My wife and I ordered a chicken wrap that was just okay. It was actually dry and tasteless. We also had an order of a grilled cheese that was so so. We also ordered a BLT. Definitely not something we would ever order again. My in-laws did like their Rueben .
When we first got to our table we waited around 20 minutes just to get menus, we asked for the kids menu and the waiter said why very rudely and wouldn’t show us even tho we had a kid, we ordered 2 grilled cheese and a garden salad, one of us is vegetarian and got the salad which then came out as the tenderloin salad instead, the waiter was very rude about the order being wrong and it then took another 30 to get the salad, mind you we had already waited for an hour for it, the grilled cheese wasn’t grilled it was just bread with melted cheese, and when we were paying and tipping we only tipped 5% since the waiter was very rude to us, when she noticed she rolled her eyes and walked away without saying anything. Overall I would not recommend coming here as there is so many other small restaurants that are around the area and have way better service and food.
Great place for casual meal. Food was good and the plates generous.
We almost did not stay, we were greeted by a rude staff member that did not seem interested in seating us. Food was very good, and the atmosphere was fun. Our server was friendly, but had too many tables because she could have been more attentive. They were very busy for the office season, I would hope they get additional help for the upcoming travel season.
Great location, right near the beach and park! ???? The staff was friendly and the service was top notch.

LOVE the outdoor seating area. It’s a little dark inside, so sit outside if you can.
the atmosphere alone is worth going to Black River for. It is just such a fun bar. One of the bartenders, Ashley, is just amazing. Greats drinks and an amazing person. The regulars are also incredible. It’s almost impossible not to have a good time. Absolutely love Black River Tavern :)
