Just left the shop… Andrew is amazing. He’s done quite a few pieces for me, and he’s the first artist who comes to mind when I can afford new ink! Andrew’s prices are reasonable and his calm demeanor and easy hand makes for a positive experience. Kudos on his ability to blend my ideas together to honor my kids with his art. So thankful to have found such a great artist!
I have had all my piercings done by Carli at Black Magnolia. She has done my earlobes, industrial, conch, and navel. My lobes and industrial healed beautifully and I have no worries my conch and navel will do the same. Carli has absolutely fantastic service! She is very straightforward about the process and explains everything well. She keeps her space and instruments clean. Plus the time you spend with her is like a bonus stand up comedy show. I mean it, I would pay money to see her perform live. I love this woman, she's the best. Recently she approached me about adding pronouns to her paperwork because "It's 2022 people need to get with the times!" I told her this was a fantastic idea and she immediately rewrote her paperwork and I am PROUDLY the FIRST Pronoun Paperwork Client of Carli.
If I could give her more than five stars I would, I highly recommend her.
EDIT AS OF 8.18.19- Before today my rating was one star due to my previous experience prior to the new owners. I had a sugar skull tattoo on my thigh that was horrific, lines missing, lines not connecting, just horrid and embarrassing! The new owners contacted me regarding the bad review/experience and offered to work with me to fix it best they can. Today was my first of two sessions towards fixing and completing my tattoo. JD is awesome and does some good work! I will update again on next session.
I had a great experience with Carli. She was very real & honest about the piercings I wanted. I didn't even feel my belly piercing. She told me when something was going to be uncomfortable. Definitely recommend her. They didn't have a big selection of rings but for 1st time piercings, this is the place I will go.
I travel a lot and like to get a bit of ink everyone I go some where new. Never having been in Virginia, I had to see what's out there. Everyone I spoke to told me East End was a great spot to go. A late walk in, I got to work with Rob. I had an idea for a tattoo, and together we worked out an awesome design and a great spot for it. 2 hours later, I have the bragging rights of being inked by a local great.
The shop is clean, in the historic section of town.
Friendly staff, and my buddy got a great tat by Sara while I was getting mine.
Definitely would love to come back when I have the time to sit down and let these fabulous artists do what they do best.
JD was such a pleasure to work with. My friend and i were getting matching tattoos on the thin back/side part of the ear - an unusual and fun place. He took the time to really get the design exactly how we wanted it. The entire staff was friendly, and the owner really cared about his shop - you could just see the pride. I highly recommend coming here and seeing JD for your next piece!
My best friend and I went for piercings and it felt like we were walking into someone's living room. It was so clean and friendly. Carli was amazing with our piercings and all the information she gave and we will definitely be back for more.
My bestie & I decided to get our nose pierced on a Saturday. We went to multiple shops in RVA & most were super busy or there was just too much going on. We called Black Magnolia & were able to get an appointment at 630p. We arrived early & it was so calm & comfy in the lounge area. We were greated by Carli & she made our entire visit spectacular! She was SUPER informative & presise, we actually learned a lot. I would absolutely recommend if your getting your first piercing, to start here! My bestie & I will absolutely be back! & I will absolutely recommend to my people! Pricing was super reasonable, paperwork was professional & the process was super thorough! Not to mention Carli was super supportive of me being a SISSY!???????? 10/10! The expertise of the piercer makes a HUGE difference!
