Haven't been to black bear for years. First visit in pretty much since it opened. And I am very pleased. Food was delicious. Andrea was our waitress and she made sure everything was perfect for us and was very attentive. I should also note I go in with a service dog who is off leash. The staff was very friendly to this and understood the needs for us and helped us to be seated in a booth. We didn't mind waiting till one opened up as we expected it would be awhile since it's a weekend and breakfast time.
Food was absolutely enjoyable as well as delicious overall. Our waitress Jenny not only was she friendly she also provided a unique experience. It was recommended to try the Bob’s big bear burger I would say it was more than I can eat in one sitting. With Jenny’s recommendation we tried the pie! Staff was very friendly and restaurant was clean. Overall service was amazing and will visit again for sure!
Good service, good lunch.
I ordered The Cobb Salad with grilled chicken. My wife ordered the Turkey dinner. Both were large portion size(with leftovers to take home.) We also ordered chocolate cake to-go. This was a very positive experience.
I like my food and coffee hot and this is how my food was when I had breakfast at the Gresham Black Bear restaurant recently. My breakfast was excellent, presented well and tasty. I was welcomed by staff when I entered the restaurant even though the restaurant was very busy. I liked the welcoming atmosphere and great service especially from Angie, Andrea, Mariah in fact all the staff. The restaurant area was clean and spotless as far as I could see so assume the kitchen area was too.
Never really stopped in sandy on the way to Mt. Hood, but January snow/ice storm forced us to out chains on next door, and we stopped to fuel our tummy up. Ordered their fantastic fresh baked biscuits and corned beef hash. Biscuit was soooo fluffy and buttery I regretted ordering just 1! Corned beef hash was not from a can, and I appreciated that. Adding this place as our first stop from now on
My waitress Cassie was phenomenal, absolutely excellent service. She went above and beyond to make sure we had what we wanted and needed. Really fast service. Very pleased and will be coming back again soon. Thanks so much Cassie for your excellent service. She defiantly deserves a raise! Thanks again
I typically eat here with my family once a week. Normally, Isaiah seats or waits on us, and always greets us with a big smile and great service. All of the staff here is actually very friendly and provide great customer service. Our food always comes quickly.
The food itself is very good. On Fridays, there is an unlimited fish-fry which is amazing, which I would highly recommend. But over time we've tried many different things off the menu: burgers, steaks, salads, sandwiches. Personally I love the bacon cheeseburger salad, and the clubhouse sandwich. The portions are a good size, so bring your appetite or expect leftovers. Highly recommend this location.
The food was great and the customer service was excellent which is surprising these days. The waitress messed up the milkshake but we drank it anyway and when we mentioned it to her, she offered to make a new one. We told her it wasn't necessary, we drank it anyways. She took it upon herself to discuss it with her manager and returned to the table and told us the milkshake was not going to be on the bill. I had no problem paying for it but was impressed with how she handled it.
