Best WLM Reviews

Overall a good place with good service. Atmosphere was comfortable and cozy.
The waffle was ok, but it was really just a waffle shaped pancake, honestly the only worthwhile breakfast item seems to be The Volcano. Eggs were cooked just right. Lunch items however looked good and definitely worth
The tiny hiccup was when they forgot the bacon in the... bacon hamburger, but they brought it out individually.
The portions are pretty large for the price you pay. I got the California Eggs Benedict's, I thought it was pretty good however I wasn't a fan of the avocado but that is person preference. I also got the huckleberry lemonade & it was just too sweet. The person I came with got a vanilla shake & pancakes. They said that the pancakes are extremely good & they enjoyed the vanilla shake
I was really looking forward to the red potatoes with my breakfast today. This was the main reason for choosing Black Bear today.
We received the WORST service, and my potatoes were undercooked not once, but twice. I don't like to complain, but I couldn't even bite into the potatoes as they were that hard. The rest of my food got cold while waiting for the 2nd potatoes.
The service. We were waited on by Manny. No problems being seated, but the lobby lacks signage instructing to wait to be seated.
While perusing the menu, our waiter was at a few tables behind us.
He was speaking in Spanish, to what I thought was the table behind us, but then walked up and stopped at our table. I still don't know what he said, because he was not even by our table. No greeting, just "Are you ready?" So rude.
He did this again later on, talking to the empty table behind us, as he walked over. I had to explain that I didn't know he was talking to us, because he was at the next table behind us!
Very unfriendly service. He had no face time with us, barely making eye contact as we ordered. When I explained my potatoes were undercooked, he was visibly irritated and said he'd get more. (Which were undercooked again, but I was starving already)
I watched him with other patrons with no problems. Unsure why we were singled out here. Maybe it's because we didn't speak Spanish to him?
The rest of the food was great though.
Always stays consistent.
Good food.
California Omelet could've had a little more avocados. Still delicious. Bunch of mushrooms.
Veggie Omelet was filled with veggies except mushrooms.
I would go back.
Today was Thanksgiving. They did a good way to cut down on wait times by limiting their menu for the kitchen. This cut down the wait time and service was super fast. Our waitress was awesome I didn't get her name she was a Hispanic lady. She checked on us often and always m adequate sure my husband's coffee was topped off. I didn't get my usual because they didn't offer it. Instead I tried something else the chicken strip basket. The tenders were just inside and crispy on the outside.
Great food. Right next door is a Hotel and next to us was a couple meeting a friend they had not seen in 15 years. They met at Black Bear and talked about old times over pancakes. Very cool!
We had a party of 9 plus a baby, we had a quick wait while the staff set up tables for us. It was super busy, we were there at lunchtime on a Thursday. We did have to wait a little bit for our food, but it was worth it. Huge portions and delicious food.
We had such a great time at Black Bear Diner! The staff is so friendly and attentive, the food is always pretty good and the atmosphere is great! This time we got to hand out with the mascot :) as they were walking around the restaurant!
