Best WLM Reviews
Pretty poor offering from this location. The menu screen has all kinds of interesting options for 9:30am, but the ordering kiosk gives you exactly 2 options, the English breakfast and an omelet. I went with the English. I probably should have chosen option 3.
The "potatoes" were hard as rock, I could barely cut in to them with the plastic knife. The rest of the food, despite being "freshly" served, was mostly cold or certainly not freshly cooked.
The service was non-existent in so much as you order from and pay at a terminal, then you get a buzzer. When it goes off, someone from back has already unceremoniously dumped your food on the counter and walked away. Tough on you if you have any questions or requests, they only seem to have kitchen staff here.
I should have gone with option 3, Itsu, the noodle place next door. Next time.
Very shocking experience for an airport bistro. If you sell breakfast and one of the options is not available, please inform customers straight away. Also, make sure the staff has a basis of English and not just French and a bit of feeling for customer service. Breakfast food quality and preparation also very poor.
I'm going to be contrary here but I love this place, I come here every time I fly outside the EU. Bright airy space with beautiful brasserie decor, good sandwiches and pizzas at a reasonable (airport) price, frankly if you're ordering a poke bowl here you're an idiot and that's on you. Great dry rose by the glass, beers etc. Ignore the kiosks, they're useless. Staff friendly and efficient. What's not to love?
It is a nice place, quite large and has ample sitting. The tables next to the window are overlooking boarding gates so you can watch the loading and unloading of planes. Pleasently decorated, with a rustic feel. The menu is quite limited, it's mostly just for having a drink (beer, wine, coffee or soft drinks). They do offer table service and you can order through your phone. Prices are rather high though.
I wish I could review the food, but I would have had to taken out a bank loan to tatse it. It was so jaw-droppingly expensive that I turned away and left. Instead of paying €29 for a simple burger + fries + beer menu, I starved myself and waited 4 hours until i got to London to purchase 4 burgers for £8 at McDonalds.
I know airport prices are always elevated, but that is honestly just taking the piss.
I usually eat at the Belle & Belge before flying out but thought I'd give this place a try.
Orders are taken at automated kiosks which issue a pager that alerts you your food is ready - a well-designed system, I thought. Condiments and cutlery are available just in front of the pick-up counter, and the seating is over in a large warehouse-style open plan area in which some tables around the perimeter offer power points for charging, as well as views of the airport.
I just wanted a snack so went for "Pulled beef loaded fries". I didn't have long to wait - under 10 mins since placing my order to being summoned - and when it arrived it pretty much amounted to a ladle of minced beef in gravy tipped over a pile of chips (proper Belgium Frites, not thin French Fries), topped off with diced spring onions, red peppers and grated cheese plus a drizzle of runny mayo (which I could have done without). Although there was quite a sizeable amount of frites there, for 15 euros it doesn't represent great value for money and I don't recall any options on the kiosk for customising the order.
The next time I tried the fish and chips. It's not a huge meal, and comes with a side salad (again with the mayo.. why not to the side? There's no option on the kiosk to leave it off). The chips were slightly dryer than I expected but there's some balsamic vinegar on the condiment counter; the fish was slightly greasy as though it hadn't rested and it's not the best meal I've had but did okay for a quick bite before flying home.
The third occasion I tried one of their burger meals but ordered at the counter so was able to request it without mayo, which came with various salad garnish and chips (in a smaller cone). Despite me asking for the mayo to be left off, the attendant still dropped sachets of mayo and ketchup on the tray...
The burger wasn't bad, the bun toasted and plain (and a bit dry) and the chips went down okay. For nearly 20 euros, it doesn't represent great value for money.
I honestly think this place wouldn't survive outside of the airport - if it was on the high street, I couldn't see people choosing this over the other places out there.
I know airports are always more expensive, but 21€ for a poke bowl, that was not even a poke bowl, felt like a scam. It di
dn't have the ingredients a even a basic poke should have, and those sparse ingredients were a very thin layer on top of a bowl filled with loose salad. Ripoff and not at all tasty.
The place is super dirty, the cleaning staff walk around the people eating with a stinky trash but does not take the time to clean the tables. It is a self service which, for this price, is kind of an insult. My burger meat was overcooked and my bread was burnt black. I did not complain as it took so long to get the food and I had a plane to catch. Don't be fooled by the look, it is Autogrill food, maybe they should make it a Burger king instead... AVOID.
