So first all, the service is very good here. We got the caprese appetizer and I swear it tasted like bologna. I asked the server if this is normal and she said no and immediately comped it for us. My girlfriend’s steak came out like a burnt Salisbury steak and again the server comped her meal and brought a new steak cooked to perfection. Maybe it was just a bad night for the kitchen staff, but I’m not too sure we will come back. The bread and butter was amazing!!! So sweet like kettle cooked popcorn. I think this is a great restaurant and obviously mistakes happen.
AIX Bistro is a phenomenal restaurant offering French Mediterranean-inspired cuisine. The presentation of each dish was exquisite, and the service was outstandingly and friendly. While there was a minor hiccup with the Ahi Tuna pieces that were served, the issue was promptly resolved. Everything else on the menu was delectable, including the drinks.
Additionally, AIX Bistro boasts a beautifully decorated bar lounge area in another room located at the rear of the restaurant, adding a touch of class and elegance to the overall experience. If you're in the area, it's definitely a must-try dining destination.
For years, I've cherished dining at BistroA/X, known for its impeccable service and consistently warm, delicious meals. Each visit felt special, making it my go-to spot for unwinding and celebrating significant occasions. Naturally, it became the chosen venue for my birthday dinner, anticipated with much excitement by my friends and myself.
Unfortunately, this particular visit did not live up to the high standards set by my numerous previous experiences. From the moment we stepped in, the vibe was noticeably off. The usually attentive staff seemed distracted and overwhelmed, which was surprising given their reputation for stellar service.
The real disappointment came with the food. Dishes that had previously amazed us arrived lukewarm at best, and some of the dishes ice cold. A simple request to reheat the food would have thrown off the after dinner plans completely, which was the last thing we wanted on what was supposed to be a joyous occasion.
While I understand that restaurants can have off nights, it was disheartening to encounter this on a day that meant a lot to me. Despite the underwhelming experience, my past positive experiences at Bistro will likely bring me back in the hopes that this was a one-off situation and not a new trend.
I would say that Bistro Aix has one of the best happy hours in Jax right now. The cocktails and a selected number of appetizers are all $7. Everything is fantastic! If you sit at the bar or anywhere in the back room you are going to have great service. Tom and Taylor are the bartenders I have the most experience with and they are the BEST. I stopped in one time on a whim after not going for years. Now I stop in almost once a week. The mussels are my favorite but the wood fired margherita pizza is yummy as well.

I had planned to meet a friend at 5 pm, but my meeting ended early I got there at 3:45 pm. The front door was locked, I tried again then called the restaurant but ended up stuck in voicemail. I saw the hostess at the stand, finally got her attention and she unlocked the door. Obviously I was the only customer, she asked if I had a reservation?? Umm no. After 10 minutes a server approached, I asked a few questions, she said I'm not sure, it's my 3rd day. I heard about the Limoncello drop, I had to try it. A few minutes later another server came over saying my drink was being made. I was confused it wasn't my first server, she said no that's our new manager. I ordered the Courgette Frites and the Xoise Salad. I got my drink which was very good. A carafe of water was left on the table, I refilled my own glass until it was the carafe was empty. I was told they were missing some ingredients for the salad. I ordered the special, Filet Mignon with potatoes and asparagus. The appetizer was ok. I waited quite some time for my main dish. I called my friend and said don't bother coming. The service is slow, speakers were squeaking trying to play music I think. Seever brought my food, after a bite or two I just wanted to leave so had it packed to go. The steak was not great, my dog enjoyed it. So disappointed. Definitely not worth $104.00
My partner and I came in to celebrate our anniversary and the experience was absolutely phenomenal. We ordered the arancini, lobster ravioli and pan seared salmon. Everything was out of this world. Spencer took such amazing care of us and was so genuine and professional. I highly suggest requesting him as your server!! 10 out of 10 would recommend to anyone for an incredible dining experience.
Really nice lunch for my first time. I've been hearing the raves for years. It almost lived up to the hype. The service and dessert were killer. The main course was "cool". A great place to try out.
