EXPENSIVE TAQUERIA
Many restaurants nowadays are short staffed and this restaurant only had two employees during the time of visit (11am).
Food:
We ordered a birria taco combo ($21.99) and a birria ramen (~$7.50). Birria taco was decently sized with 3 tacos with your choice of beef or goat, side of rice and soup to dip your tacos in. I personally don’t believe it was worth the price. A regular taco dinner (~$15), here they add the cup of soup for an extra $7 almost.
Birria Ramen: they use a bag of Maruchan chicken ramen noodles and their traditional soup. The portion was pretty small for the price paid.
Pricing: **CASH ONLY** For two the price is roughly $50-70 for a lunch meal including taxes.
Take this place for what it is. An old school cash only joint with good Birria. My family used to come in for takeout when I was a kid and still tastes better than other spots around… that salsa will bring you back to life. Prices may have gone up a bit, but nothing these days is cheap, especially in Pilsen.
Wow! Our trip down to Pilsen was partly to enjoy some good food. This place was fantastic. The woman working at the window was so nice and helpful. I think she was somewhat surprised that I wanted the goat birria instead of the beef. I said I want it to be authentic! We shared the Ramen Birria and the Birria Taco plate. So much food! Everything was so tasty! Can’t wait to get back!
*CASH ONLY* BYOB $6 - Bowl of birria maciza was flavorful but portion is small even though I ordered a large. Eat w/ caution; Might run into small bones even if you order boneless. Service was friendly but slow, only one waitress for a busy Sunday. Arrive early to avoid long wait times to be seated. P.S quesatacos not available on weekends.
Ignore the hateful and rude comments, my dad and I have been coming here since I was 13 years old and my dad has been more than me the birria here is delicious ???? and amazing cooked, and of course inflation has affected everyone and if for those complaining about the prices everything isn’t cheap anymore… and it’s a family owned business yall have to understand that.. too as well. I will definitely continue coming here thanks Reyes de Ocotlan.
I had the large plate of birria. If you don't know what birria is I can explain it to you. It's from Jalisco state Mexico. It involves slow cooked la mb or goat. The meat was so tender that it was falling off the. bone. The consume was full of flavor. They also give you fresh onions that are pickled with habaneros. Over all it was a great experience with fresh corn tortillas.
The birria juice is literally unseasoned oil. No cilantro, no onion, nothing. It tastes like bones. And the tacos taste burnt like they’re being cooked on a skillet that is never cleaned. Not to mention 8 tacos & a large rice was $60. WOULD NOT RECOMMEND
It’s a cozy place with delicious birria taco and ramen birria, great quality and great value, cash only. You surely wanna add this place to your taco brawl
