The Owner is kind but money hungry. She will ask for the money before she leaves & allow unlicensed ladies from Africa do your hair. The ladies will say they don't pek english but then on the phone with there love ones speaking English. Today put a complaint in with the Owner, it did not gofar but her cussing them out in her language. I was more made there sink does not work. A lady washed my hair in cold water, I have a health condition that could be trigger. The Owner of the building should fix there sink!
I am thankful for this stylist. My child experienced alopecia as an adverse reaction to a flu shot. The medicated shampoos and lotions did not help. To style her hair and conceal the bald spots, I took her to Bintou’s salon for the first time. My child’s hair grew back under the braids ???????? she no longer has any bald spots or patches.
Some Sundays ago my wife had an appointment for 10am. We dont live in the area so the plan WAS to bring her to the shop and go spend time with family until she was ready...
Not only did I drop her off but also waited a few mins as we were early. My wife assumed that they would arrive shortly so she told me to go ahead. 20 minutes later she calls me telling me they werent there and when she called the hairdresser said she would be there in a few minutes not realizing that my wife could clearly hear that she hadnt left her house..
My wife told her to forget it (the owner was out of town and it was pretty obvious that those working took full advantage of that by thier actions.
My wife never got her hair braided (we had a huge engagement to go to the very next night) and had to settle.
Im disgusted
The one star is because you have to put something there or else you can't proceed. I get it though, Bintu wins by default. They know they are good ( one of the best in the area ) and affordable so they look at it like "hey if we miss one they'll be another" hence the reason why the woman didnt even apologize to my wife...
Oh well we always want to give back to the community by coming back and supporting business such as this but when situations like that come up your left with no choice but to go elsewhere

This salon is dirty. No Barbicide in the building! They don't wash your hair. Which is unlawful for hair services. HAS NO License to boot. Truly Unprofessional. Rude as heck they overcharge. DO NOT ENTER THEY HAVE MICE AND THIER CAPES ARE FILTHY. Has a nerve at have attitudes too!!
I have the toughest tightest coiliest of 4 grade hair. Usually at salons they rip through it with a blow dryer and comb to prep for braids. Mimi did not. Mimi was as tender as she could be with my cotton ball. Very nice. On the pricier end of the spectrum but well worth it for her gentle skill. Open on Sunday for a walk in with minimum wait.
Got feed in braids done there. She took me in wanted to charge me $100 for 7 cornrows I asked her to do it for $80 since Luzhinia does it for that price (but they are closed half the week). I told her I wanted to wash and blow-dry too, so she charged me more, which I thought was part of the service price. She began washing my hair, which was okay, then did the worst job I've ever seen blow drying it. My scalp was wet my ends were dry and fried. She braided my hair and stopped to talk on the phone for a half hour. Her daughter came in and she yelled at her for 15 minutes while braiding my hair. Then she put a gallon of gel in my hair and sent me on my way. I have heat damage and took my hair out two days later because it was so tight and was already getting messed up. Really bad service.
I had to take my hair out only after 4 days because it was too tight. I have a bald spot on one of my sides and the top is still hurting and the braids have been out for almost a week. I have never experienced this ever. Bintou was the 1st place I ever got my hair braided. And I will not be going back!
I've been there a few times to get my hair braided I had the tree braids done very beautiful then I got the Twisties came out nice
Prices are a lil steep but it was worth it
