Find another shop pls!! It was almost a years ordeal without my truck fix and I had to help him finish my truck. The craziest experience I've ever had with a tradesmen. Never at his shop doesn't answer half the time. Took a vacation in the middle of my job that was already months behind. He attempted to have my 07 taken to a dealership to figure out why it wouldn't shift out of 2nd.... I refused that took it to a man recommended by Billy to find out the problem was the build not the TCM or programming. Billy rebuilt my trans again for it to drive less than a week. This was his third tThen I find out he was accusing me of "racing up and down the streets" and this was the cause of my transmission problems. He never told me that and I'm sure he wouldn't. Had to replace my battery because my truck say so long with a lithium unit that sat flat for too long. Just an all around bad experience. I couldn't recommend him to a enemy much less a friend.

In May of 2023 I went down there and spoke to him. He seemed like he was nice and he knew what he was talking about. So I trusted him with my car. I explained to him my husband was active duty and is currently overseas. That I have 3 young children who need to be in car seats where my husbands car is unable to accommodate all 3.
Anyhow, I dropped off my vehicle around the 2nd of June. My vehicle was done within a week. So I get it back. I drive down the road and noticed the rpms were going up. So I called them back and the woman said “that’s normal” because it needs to “break in.” My vehicle check engine light went on again.
I contacted him and he said to bring it back due to the 1yr warranty on his transmission. So I give it back and I get it back like 2-3 weeks later. Then I take it less than a mile down the road and the check engine light turned on.
I contact him right away and he said to bring it back. This time he had it for 3-4 weeks. But once I got back the check engine light turned
On before I even left my driveway.
I had to drive all the way down there to even get in contact with this man. Even he gave me his “personal number.” He was there and he called Chrysler because he said he would “pay” to get a correct diagnosis of what is wrong. So on tjr 6th of September I have it dropped off at the Chrysler. I also was contacting them asking about my vehicle. They told me it was the transmission still. The owner of Billy Joe transmission told me he was picking up my vehicle that Monday after they were done. I was communicating with him and he said it would be done later that week. I was driving there almost everyday because he’s not responding and I don’t see my car there. So I call the Chrysler and asked them when he picked up my vehicle. They told
Me HE NEVER picked it up.
So no answers, and when I go there his wife was complaining someone died. It’s always an excuse his child, someone died, this or that. I was like okay if that happened you could simply “let me know” instead of misleading me to believe you were working on my car when you said it would be done that week that he said.
Anyhow, I ended up paying for the Chrysler when he said to me and he even told Chrysler he would pay for it. He said he ordered a new transmission for my vehicle. This time from the time it was dropped off from to Chrysler and when I got it back it was ALMOST 3 entire months. Whenever I wanted to find out about it I have to drive down there. And most of the time he WAS NOT there. And I live on fort Campbell it’s not around the corner.
He told me it was done. We made an arrangement for me to pick it up the Monday of the week of thanksgiving. Surprise surprise he wasn’t there. I texted him and he told me some excuse about a doctor. Went there every day almost for 2 weeks. He wasn’t there’s. I called and he’s not accepting calls. I had my husband call same thing. I left him a message about wanting my vehicle back. He put the key in my GAS TANK. Not to mention it was not even fixed.
Now I am going to take it to Chrysler and get it done correctly. This man took advantage of a military family who has kids. I highly doubt he even did anything. It seemed like all he did was reset the check engine light and just took my money and didn’t do anything.
Save yourself the stead and spend the extra money on a mechanic that will do the job and not take advantage of you .
He stole $4,150 from my warranty company and $200 from me for NO WORK done to my transmission. He didn't DO NO WORK to my vehicle. He is a crook. I'm getting my vehicle fixed now by a real repair company. I advise everyone to stay away from BILLY JOE TRANSMISSION. HE IS A CROOK

I wasn't going to write a review.
But now that it is ONE YEAR later, I decided to go ahead and give travelers a heads up about this shop.
We researched and read reviews for the area transmission shops and made the choice to use Billy Joe's by the reviews.
Billy Joe may treat locals differently, but if you're traveling through this area and break down, do NOT go here!
The diagnosis he gave us was, that our transmission was going out. He recommended that we not drive it anymore.
So we rented a vehicle and left our suburban for repair, as we had to return to Missouri for work. We said no rush because it'd be two weeks before we could return.
Back two weeks later, the suburban was NOT finished, although Billy Joe said it would be done by the end of the week that we dropped it off.
His son told us that Billy Joe had gotten a flash burn to his eyes from a new welder and wouldn't be able to have it ready until the end of the next day . He even showed us a picture of his eyes, although we don't know when it was taken.
On a phone call, Billy Joe said it would be done by the end of the next day, even if he had to walk his son through the process of finishing it.
So, we had to renew my rental vehicle and get a hotel room.
End of next day, still not done. Something about parts availability.
Had to get another day on rental vehicle and another hotel room.
End of the next day I'm assured it's fixed.
We paid Billy Joe $3000 cash and go a few blocks to return rental vehicle. After dropping it off I proceed to drive my suburban. (The other driver wasn't a listed driver for the rental, so she drove the suburban, for the first time to follow me to return the rental.)
Now as I'm driving, the suburban is making a terrible exhaust noise. I go back to Billy Joe and he said something about needing to cut off the exhaust to get to the transmission and he didn't get it put back. So we wait in the office for him to put exhaust back on.
He says it's done so we start home.
We get about an hour away and the suburban starts making a horrible loud noise and won't go anymore. I managed to get it pulled off the highway right before a large uphill bridge that goes over a lake.
I called Billy Joe. He called for a tow truck. It got there about two hours later to take us back to the transmission shop.
When we got back Billy Joe gave me $100 towards a hotel room (They're about $150). He also loaned me his pickup so we could go get that hotel room. He said my suburban would be done by the end of the next day.
The end of the next day I get a call from Billy Joe saying it's ready.
When we got there it was already running and when I ask about it, he said the battery seems a little weak.
We leave and get about half hour away, stop at a convenience store and when we get back in the surburban, it will NOT start.
I called Billy Joe and he told me that he didn't have anything to do with the battery and that he was headed to a ball game.
We were able to get help from a nice young man and he installed the battery I bought. When he heard our story, he told us we used the WRONG shop. I paid him for his kindness and services to help us out.
We finally made it home.
When my husband switched from 2 wheel drive to 4 wheel drive it would get stuck. It had to go back to our local mechanic for more repair.
Billy Joe had used parts and pieces from other transmissions to rebuild ours but didn't even put it back together the right way.
And here's the real kicker ...
***The transmission was NEVER the problem.
It was the transfer case on our 3/4 ton suburban.***
in april 2022 i needed my transmission rebuilt. but my car wasn’t running bc of some other issues. i trusted this man to rebuild my transmission. he called me a week later and told me it was finished but he “couldn’t figure out why it wouldn’t start” probably didn’t even try because he didn’t do the transmission. well last week i got it running finally and the transmission was slipping still. well i took it to a different transmission shop and they told me the transmission wasn’t touched. just looked freshly painted. and he poured out all my transmission fluid. 3,800 paid to this man for nothing !
Beware I took my car here. I purchased a rebuilt transmission and paid upfront for the replacement he said he can do in 2 days. 30 days later my car was not repaired after promise after promise. I towed my car away and he gave me a hot check to refund me the money I paid up front for and he stole my rebuilt transmission and put a part that wasn’t my car make or model in my trunk. I had to file charges with the District’s Attorney office. DONT TRUST THIS MAN WITH YOUR CAR…
***PUBLIC SERVICE ANNOUNCEMENT***
DO NOT, I REPEAT DO NOT LET THIS LOOSER TOUCH YOUR CAR. 2 MONTHS AND 4 TRIPS BACK TO HIM TO REBUILD A CVT TRANSMISSION. HE NEVER PULLED OUT THE TRANSMISSION. HE SPRAY PAINTED IT (CHILD COULD HAVE DONE A BWTTER JOB), SOME OF THE BOLTS ARE SCREWED UP AND NOT FITTING RIGHT OR ARE MISSING FROM UNDER THE HOOD, SCREWED UP A HOSE AND PUT A HOSE THAT WASN'T THE CORRECT ONE ON WITH DUCT TAPE ( WHICH HIS SON CLAIMED THAT WAS THE PROBLEM WITH MY VAN, MIND YOU I HAD RABEN DO WORK REGARDING THAT HOSE AND I NEVER HAD BAD SERVICE FROM THEM), HE GHOSTED ME SO MANY TIMES. THANK GOD I PAID HIM WITH 2 DIFFERENT CREDIT CARDS. I CALLED AND GOT ALL MY MONEY BACK WHICH WAS CLOSE TO $5,000. IF ANYONE IS INTERSTED IN SEEING MY PICTURES OF A SPRAY PAINTED TRANSMISSION AND THE OTHER STUFF HE DID AND DIDN'T DO JUST ASK. I DID TAKE MY VAN TO ANOTHER REPAIR SHOP AND HAD MY VAN BACK WITH A USED TRANSMISSION FROM THE DEALER WITH IN 2 DAYS AND IT IS RUNNING PERFECTLY. JUST TO MAKE EVERYONE AWARE NO ONE IN THIS TOWN REBUILDS A CVT TRANSMISSION BUT BILLY JOE WHO DOESN'T KNOW WHAT HE IS DOING.
Took our 04 yukon in on Tuesday afternoon and had it done Friday at lunchtime. Truck shifts like a brand new transmission. Honest and friendly people, doesn't sell you something you don't need. If you need work done on your 4L60E I highly recommend them.
