The BBQ at Billy Boy is average. I understand this place is a Shawnee Classic, but truthfully the food doesn’t prove to be good enough to be renowned.
The atmosphere is cool (feels 90s/80s) and you can tell there is a strong sense of community within the store. I enjoy that.
I got the sliced brisket sandwhich, which was very fatty and gross. My girlfriend, who got the pulled pork, had a great sandwhich. I would definitely recommend the Pork over a sliced brisket. I wish I had tried the ribs instead. We got a side of fries and those were good and crispy. For what you get, the prices are fair. The regular sandwhich is around $6-$7, which is fair for BBQ food.
This family-owned and operated business is one of my family's favorite places to eat. The food is consistently good. So when I helped to organize an office party for 30, we decided on baked potatoes and chopped brisket. I called one of the owners, and we were on our way. They took care of everything, including the toppings. The food was ready for pick-up on time, Potatoes and meat were hot and tasted great. There was plenty of butter, sour cream, onions, and cheese for toppings. We added some of their best in town homemade ranch for the salad bar we created. Everyone seemed pleased. Thanks to Bailey and the rest of the crew!
We celebrated my grandsons 16th birthday here. We had the back room reserved. Everything went perfectly. Every item on the menu that I've tried has been wonderful.
This is my son's favorite place to eat in all of Shawnee. We always get the chopped brisket sandwiches with cheese fries. Food is a little bit of a hit or miss. We went this Friday and got our usual cheese fries and ranch were on point but the brisket tasted off and the BBQ sauce tasted sour. My son ended up with a bad case of food poisoning as a result. Needless to say I think it will be a while before we dine there again.
Ok barbecue ribs were decent. Smoked chicken was not good.
Pulled pork was alright.
Felt like they were ready for everyone to get out of there before close so they could go home early.

The restaurant is always clean, well lighted, and inviting. Definitely one of the best restaurants in Shawnee.
We had it catered into Seminole for a family event, and everything was delicious and meant a lot to our family. Will recommend to everyone!
Great burgers, chopped beef sandwiches and great chicken nuggets! They make their own ranch (which is delish!) and bbq sauce so make sure you try that. Today I had the gravy with my chicken nuggets and onion rings, so good!
