It was fun having dinner here! The atmosphere was great—cheery and fun. The dinner came out super quickly as well. The brisket and pulled pork were amazing, but the ribs could definitely be more tender. The portion for the sampler was big enough to share.
Stopped here for lunch. It was about 1 pm and the place was not busy. Seated outside in a patio and the temperature was very comfortable. The pull pork sandwich was good, meat was well cooked. The garden salad was fresh. The services were excellent.
The meat is smoked in a huge smoker, right out front, and it is delicious! I enjoyed a pulled pork sandwich which came with two sides- I got the beans and coleslaw. Sides were great as well. I wish they offered fries as a side.
Three kind of bbq sauce, we tried the traditional and spicy. Both were very good, the spicy does have a little bite to it!
Drinks come in extra large cups, even if you request water.
We sat outside, and it was perfect weather! There is live music at times, but not while we were there.
We went for dinner at 6PM. The restaurant was packed inside and outside. (There was live entertainment outside!). So we took takeout.
While we waited for our food we checked out the smokers and took a few pictures using the cut-outs in the parking lot. (Lots of fun!)
Food arrived quickly and was very tasty.

From the picturesque drive from the iconic Horseshoe Bend, we stumbled across this BBQ place and it surpassed our wildest expectations.
Seating was readily available upon our arrival, allowing us to dive straight into the BBQ heaven. We ordered the BBQ sampler and a freshly baked cornbread muffin that served as the perfect complement to the rich flavors that awaited.
The second best moment for me was when the pit master graciously opened the doors to the oak-smoked pit, revealing a tantalizing sight: rows upon rows of succulent brisket, slowly spinning and basking in the aromatic embrace of the smoldering wood.

Here, they cook meat using wood. Yes, wood, not coal or gas. Meat is insanely delicious. Drinks and live music, as well as the very pleasant staff!

We love good BBQ and Big John’s Texas BBQ nailed it. It’s a delicious bbq spot in Page,AZ. They smoke on the premises, and you can see their two large smokers in the front of the store. They have an outdoor area with heaters. We sit indoor, and the decoration was very cute. I really felt like I was back in Texas.
Our family ordered a variety of foods, the chopped brisket sandwich patter with coleslaw and beans, brisket nachos and a full rack of ribs with a side of potato salad (not pictured).
The ribs were smoked perfectly and were meaty and flavorful, check out that smoke ring!
The brisket nachos were a good portion, but could have used a bit more meat.
The brisket sandwich was served with two sides. It was also flavorful, but skinny on the meat too.
The sides were also good too, the potato salad was creamy and the portion was big. The beans and coleslaw were also good.
Despite the slew of glowing reviews, I'm left grappling with the disappointment of a lackluster dining experience. I'm inclined to attribute it solely to a subpar meal, as there seems to be no other plausible explanation.
The ambiance exudes a welcoming Texan charm, from the sight of the two smokers outside to the overall decor that transports you to the heart of Texas itself. After our adventure exploring Lower Antelope Canyon, our appetites were ravenous, and this establishment seemed like the perfect refuge.
Our waiter promptly catered to our needs, even amidst the chaos of three hungry kids. She handled it with grace and kindness, which we truly appreciated.
However, the highlight of the evening— the food— was the ultimate letdown. As someone who takes pride in my own meat-smoking endeavors, I admittedly hold a bias with rather lofty standards. Opting for the brisket and ribs while my wife chose the pulled pork, we eagerly anticipated a mouthwatering feast.
Yet, to our dismay, all the meats proved to be dry and devoid of flavor. They leaned heavily on the sauces provided to salvage any semblance of taste. In my humble opinion, the mark of exceptional barbecue lies in the meat itself, not its reliance on condiments. While the array of sauces offered a spectrum of flavors, they couldn't overshadow the underwhelming main course.
Despite our disappointment, I'm inclined to believe this was merely an off day. After all, even the best establishments can falter occasionally due to the unpredictability of ingredients or cooking processes.
