First time eating at this restaurant but very impressed! Incredible lunch menu with wide variety of options at great prices and delicious food! Despite being setup for counter service, the staff was extremely friendly and attentive to your needs while dining! The cabin like decor is attractive and comfortable feeling. We look forward to dining here more in the future!
I’m highly disappointed in my salad especially because I was craving it for 4 days. It comes with cheese olives pickles croutons tomatoes onion and of course grilled chicken and bacon. Will I spent 20 dollars to get it DoorDashed just for it not to have the grilled chicken or bacon like this just ruined my whole mood at work and of course once the food got here they closed????
Man what can I say. I'm 37. Ate at this place with both sides of my family growing up because Alexander City was the halfway point. The old restaurant on the other side of the road was a classic and I miss it dearly. So many memories in that old building. Was devastated when they tore it down but instantly lifted when I found out they were just remodeling and moving across the street. They had been around forever and I totally understood the revamp. One thing remains and that is it's always been a family ran business and I can honestly say the looks changed. The prices were a little higher but the taste remained the exact same which is a great thing because for almost 32 years I've told people far and wide about this place having the best BBQ and sauce in the south period. Every time I sent someone there I never heard a negative thing from them and they always love it. Hope this place stays around another 30 years because it's a downright great place to eat.
If you are going through the area make sure to stop at Big B! The staff was really friendly the atmosphere was homey and the food was awesome. We had a group of 7 and everyone was saying how good their dish was. The wings but big and the sauce was awesome. The bread pudding was fresh made and was to die for. Take the time out of your day to stop in and have some BBQ.
Me and my wife eat here about once a year while traveling through. Usually rate this 4 star. This business might be under new management. Food was ok not great like in past. Service was out standing even when wife had to return her food and they gave her another plate. Pork still cold, beans out of a can and potatoe salad was a mush. Sister in-law had the chicken which I try and was very good even cold. My bake potatoe was so cold the butter would not melt. My Philly cheese sandwich was hot and good. As of right now don't know if we will eat here again.
Very laid-back and casual just as you would expect any barbecue place to be. Walk in order at the counter, and then wait for the food to be brought to you at the table. I had the brisket plate with fried green tomatoes and potato salad. It was a little light on the meat considering the price; however, I thoroughly enjoyed it and had plenty to eat. They offer unsweet, sweet and peach tea. The peach tea is the overall winner regardless but I’d like to add the sweet tea needs to be mixed with the unsweet so that it’s not way too sweet. Very friendly and helpful staff and a clean restaurant that you will enjoy eating in.
I've eat here my whole life. Big B has always been one of my favorite restaurants. I have probably ordered my last meal here. The past three meals have been horrible. Not average but horrible. So, one last time I went today and picked up 2lbs of chip mild pork. When I got home and opened this plate I was so disappointed. Over $30 for this and it has to be the worst bbq I have ever got from big b.
Ordered to-go order and it started raining very heavy. The wonderful staff allowed us to hang out after closing until the rain stopped. They were worried about our safety and made us feel comfortable. Very impressed with the young ladies there. Thank you all. And the food was great too.
