Best WLM Reviews
I had the Chicken Paprikas Bowl and German Chili. The chili was very meaty. The brats and kraut were a nice addition. The Chicken Paprikas Bowl was underwhelming unfortunately. Lots of spaetzle which is normally good but the ratios were off. Like 85% spaetzle 10% sauce (on the bland side) and 5% shredded chicken. Had more of a macaroni(spaetzle) and cheese vibe than chicken paprikas. Was pretty much just spaetzle coated with some bland sauce with a table spoon of shredded chicken for $16. Hopefully this is not the norm but it's what I got.
We went there with friends on a game day... We aren't into sports ourselves but the service kept up through to all! And they had fun ringing the bell whenever a point was scored! Very good food too!
Bierkeller is a place where my friends and I frequent very very often. Their staff is excellent and so is their service. Has such a cool menu and all their food is really good. Brunch on the weekend is my favorite and they get very creative with their monthly specials. Lots of beer, lots of food, and a very fun atmosphere
This place is legit! Atmosphere is great, it's beautiful inside. We had the appetizer sampler and everything was so yummy! The beer cheese to dip the pretzels in was the best ever. Service was fantastic as well, I'll be back!
Having read the menu online my friend and I thought we would give this place a try. Very disappointed with the quality of food. I ordered the schnitzel which was chicken with a
coating that was tasteless and proved to be no where near any resemblance of a German schnitzel. Having lived in Germany and eaten authentic German food this food is not even close. The hamburger my friend ordered was two smashed pieces of half dollar size meat over cooked and dry. The best part of my meal was my salad. Do not be fooled this is not German food. Going to try the Dakota Inn located in Detroit they make their schnitzel with pork.
Our first time here. We came in just before 5 and the bar started filling up. Really cute place, lots of beer choices. I'm not a beer drinker and started with a reisling wine. My husband visited the men's room and saw a bloody Mary menu on the wall so I switched and had a spicy bloody Mary. It was good without too much spice. We started with the Tour de Keller appetizer which have 2 of everything on the menu with many different dipping sauces. I didn't care for the brushetta, the bread was too chewy. All of the other items were very good. My husband had the chicken schnitzel with spaetzel and sweet potato fries. He said that it was good but disappointed that a German restaurant didn't offer German potato salad. I had the chicken paprikash soup. This was very disappointing for me as I grew up eating paprikash. The soup lacked flavor, chicken and spaetzel. Maybe they try to offer too many different food choices to perfect the German offering.
This place deserves 6 stars. Maybe 7. Everything is made from scratch. Hand breaded chicken tenders. Hand formed hamburgers. Huge shrimp in the southwest bowl. I can keep going and going. Great beer selection and phenomenal service. Seriously... some of the best food I've ever had. Definitely coming back!
Scotch eggs were amazing! Both the manager and our server were awesome! Great place to watch games and eat!
