Best WLM Reviews
Overall Thoughts: This was a cute space in the Loop close to tourist highlights like the Bean, Art Institute, etc., with stools lined around a long center table and restaurant sides for indoor seating. However, the food felt overpriced for the small-ish size and mediocre taste. The veggie seta bowl I ordered was ~$16 and was just okay. The flavors were a lot milder than I would’ve hoped; everything tasted kind of watered down. Maybe their meat / cheese options are better since this was an entirely vegan bowl and maybe their non-bowl menu items are better too. However, based on the veggie seta bowl alone, I’d give the spot 3 stars, but will update later if I try anything else I like more from here!

I am within walking distance from this gem; the food is delicious. It’s a very straight forward menu but the options are surely delicious.
I had the pelúa arepa and it was delicious; I was pleasantly surprised with how much meat there was in it.
The place itself is low key but don’t let it fool you. Most tables are small or group shared. It seems it’s more of a place for take out. Staff is awesome and they were super attentive. I am guessing that if they are super busy , it changes a bit…when I visited it wasn’t too busy.
Good place to get a quick Arepa.
I had the chicken arepa and it was decent and very quick. This is like a fast food arepa place - not quite as good as I feel it could be, but decent.
I really appreciated that they had Gluten Free & Vegan symbols on the menu for easy ordering
Super friendly staff and amazing food. The environment is fast paced but worth it.
Delicious vegetarian arepas and more!
I tried the Domino Arepa and my husband tried the Veggie Seta Arepa. We both loved our choices. Overflowing with ingredients. The tastes are subtle and delicious.
We also tried the fried yucca with guasacaca. The yucca was much less greasy than other places we've had it. And the guasacaca (similar to guacamole, but slightly spicier) was a great complement.
Seating is at large table in the center or long bars on the sides; no small tables. The chairs don't have high backs, so no place for coats.
Wonderful experience, especially with vegetarian items clearly marked on the menu. A new favorite for us!
Stopped here because it looked interesting, came away a big fan. Massive arepas (like my 220 lb self couldn't finish one), and friendly service. Beef was flavorful, cheese awesome. Get the tostones, too...
Delicious food, friendly staff, good location. Like everything in Chicago, pricey, but more reasonable than most. We tried 1, 2 & 3 with some drinks, tres leches cake, and everything was so good! Highly recommend!
I never had Venezuelan food before, so this is my first time experiencing it, and I absolutely love it. The place I visited is a small, café-like establishment that offers a variety of Venezuelan dishes. You can enjoy delicious arepas, which are cornmeal cakes filled with various ingredients such as cheese, meats, and avocados. In addition to arepas, they have other traditional Venezuelan foods like empanadas, which are savory pastries filled with meat, cheese, or vegetables, and pabellón criollo, which is a flavorful dish consisting of shredded beef, black beans, rice, and fried plantains.
They also serve authentic Venezuelan drinks, such as Venezuelan lemonade, which has a refreshing, citrusy taste with a hint of sweetness, and papelón con limón, a drink made with raw sugar cane and lime juice that is both refreshing and invigorating. The café offers a selection of Venezuelan desserts as well, including quesillo, a creamy caramel flan, and tres leches cake, which is a moist sponge cake soaked in three kinds of milk.
The ambiance of the café is warm and cozy, with colorful decorations and traditional Venezuelan music playing softly in the background. This creates a welcoming and vibrant atmosphere that makes you feel right at home. The seating is comfortable, and the layout of the café allows for intimate dining as well as larger group gatherings. The walls are adorned with artwork depicting scenes from Venezuela, adding to the cultural experience.
The staff was incredibly friendly and attentive, always ready to explain the dishes and make recommendations based on your preferences. Their passion for sharing their culture and cuisine is evident in their service, making the dining experience even more enjoyable. They were prompt with their service, and the food was served hot and fresh.
Overall, it was a delightful introduction to Venezuelan cuisine. I am eager to try more dishes in the future and explore the rich flavors and traditions of Venezuelan food. This café has certainly piqued my interest in Venezuelan culture, and I look forward to returning and bringing friends along to share in this wonderful experience.
