Better than I originally expected! Staff was super friendly and helpful even the other tenants/hotel customers were helpful! The outside of the building looks dated but once you walk inside it definitely isn’t! The room was great! We had a small issue with hot water that was fixed immediately! They have a great indoor outdoor pool, a game room, a little indoor mini golf thing and a small play scape for kids. Their breakfast was your typical hotel breakfast but good none the less.
We stayed here for about a week and it was OK. The staff was nice and responsive when we had issues. The pool was small, but usable. I really didn't like the heavy humid air in the stairwells that had a weird smell to it. I also couldn't shake the feeling that everything was unclean. However, the price was reasonable and it seemed like one of the better places to stay in La Porte.
Overall my stay was alright. Good breakfast with a nice server. Front desk staff was friendly. The room is clean and we'll maintained. My biggest issue is the size of the bathroom. There's barely room to turn around, no counter space, only one hook for towels. It's a room for four people with one towel hook?
Location is convenient and easy to find. Rooms are clean and large enough to comfortably accommodate my family of 2 adults and 6 children. The decor has been recently updated and the earth tone color scheme flows throughout the entire hotel. The indoor pool side rooms include their own individual patio space complete with patio furniture. The open floor plan complete is complete with sky lights and game room, providing a fun family atmosphere. I recommend the pool side rooms if available but I have also stayed in other rooms, while the walk to the pool is obviously further away the rooms are just as clean and comfortable and the fun family atmosphere spills down every hallway.
Horrible. Dirty. Unfriendly and rude staff. Was overcharged. Front desk unwilling to correct the charges. Continental breakfast was not provided. The air conditioning was not working during the biggest heat wave in 7 years. No fans were provided. The toilet paper was never re stalked in my room. Non smoking hotel with cleaning staff smoking in the hallways. Appalling.
I have stayed in this hotel numerous times and have tried all their rooms. This has a unique layout as the majority of the rooms face inward. The beds may need an upgrade soon, some rooms have worse mattresses than others, but they are always clean and comfortable. The breakfast is good, pool is fun, shuffle board, game room, workout room are all ok. Plenty of lounge area.
All in all is a good place to stay but future upgrades to furniture and beds will make it top notch.
The price and the amenities seemed about average. There is a putting green, a very small playground, and a decent pool and hot tub that we used. There is also a small arcade (about five games and a pool table, all pay-to-play), a small fitness center, and a shuffleboard court that we did not use. The breakfast was good, not great but good. Altogether, I actually increased my rating of the hotel from 3 stars to 4 while I was writing this review because those special features are small but in reality they made the stay quite pleasant. We could have chosen a hotel with many fewer amenities at around the same price. Oh, and the beds are extraordinary! True story, my wife and I went to buy a new mattress the day we checked out of this hotel, because we didn't realize what we were missing until we slept on these beds.
Cleanliness was an issue. Beds were just o.k. They could have told us that the upper floor had already been renovated. Staff was very nice and breakfast was good. Lady working the breakfast buffet was very sweet, even brought my sister oatmeal with a candle in it for her b-day.
