I had a great experience. The work is high quality and the prices are fair. I used to work as a mechanic, and I am usually disappointed when someone else works on my car.
I just had such a good experience getting help with my Toyota Prius from Steve and his dad, Bill, at Best Auto Repair. I'm visiting from out of town, and I noticed that my car's AC was making a weird rumbling sound. At a local friend's recommendation, I called Best Auto Repair (the family's last name is Best :-) ) and they were able to get me in the next day. They were able to diagnose the problem and sort me out within less than an hour! And while I was waiting, Bill made friendly conversation. What a lovely fellow.
As it turned out, mice(!!) had chewed through my car's AC filter and built a little nest in the blower motor! It was a very hot day, but Steve got down into the dashboard to fix it all up and put in a much-needed, new clean filter. The cost of the repairs was very reasonable. I would strongly recommend this friendly, family-owned shop for anyone in the future.
Great father-son pair who are great at their job. Really nice and friendly too. Prices are all fair. I've had multiple car repairs done here and never have been disappointed. Really honest too, in that they've told me if I have a repair that could be done somewhere else cheaper and quicker. Would highly recommend for anybody looking for trustworthy mechanics.
Best Auto is hands down the best place to take your car in Ithaca. They know their stuff when it comes to mechanics and have seen it all. They were up front with the pricing (which was very reasonable), explained the problem of my car in a way I understood, and lead me to the most affordable solution. I’d recommend them to anyone! They’re very friendly and so much fun to talk to!
Got a nice treatment today! The guy helped to remove rusted screws and replaced them with newer ones at no cost all! Definitely will go there for maintenance!

Amazing people and very thorough and great in their work, and fair in the price. My wife's car recently was making a squeaky sound. The technician drove the car and figured the issue immediately. The problem was the car's brake pads. He also was very nice with me. He is one of the most decent people I have ever seen. My wife and I have been living in Ithaca for almost six years and had always struggled finding a fair mechanic who is also good in his job. Now that at the end of this month we are leaving Ithaca to Chicago for good we found the one.
My car battery was failing and I needed to get back to work, the kind folks here set me up with a great new battery right away. Just what I needed, when I needed it, in record time. They even fixed my hood latch. Thank you!
