Best WLM Reviews

What a small town delight! Homemade everything! FABULOUS pulled pork tacos! Loved the cabbage and sausage soup. Great salad. And for desert we had homemade donuts that were to ,"die for"
Stopped in before errands and oh my, the restaurant is decorated in a western theme.
Live music was playing during our breakfast.
Husband ordered eggs over medium, bacon and hash browns.
I ordered the vegetable quiche with a side salad, my dressing was a lime Basil vingerette.
Frankie did an excellent job for only her second day on the job!
If you want a small town dining experience with a great menu and food, this is your stop. Homemade donuts that you can customize, different desserts you can buy to go… so many options. Would recommend this place to anyone in the white mountain area!
First time here. I parked and tried entering at the front of the business. The sign said "open," but all the doors were locked. I took a small road which went to the rear of the restaurant and this is where their parking lot was located. I followed a man in through a small maze of corridors once I entered the door. At last, I was inside. We were greeted and shown to a table. It is a small diner, very cute with a Western theme. On the far side, there is a bakery. The wall displayed some very delicious looking donuts, and another customer was the one who told me you could create your own donut. I looked around and didn't see any pricing of the bakery items. I did see a small whiteboard that listed a few items, such as wraps, but again, there were no prices. The staff member at the counter did give me the prices of each type and quantity of donut, it really seems it would be more convenient if there was a price list posted somewhere. Their seasonal donuts and cinnamon twist were very delicious. Back at the table, we shared a BLT, which is the best BLT around!! They didn't skimp on bacon. It was well worth the wait, and they was a bit of a wait. After a good meal with a full belly, you discover the next room is a soda fountain and ice cream area and upon walking further there is a leather shop and store filled with hides of every type, belts, saddles, engraved leather and wood, clothing, purses, well I could go on, but you'll just have to check it out for yourself!
Amazing food!! The custom donuts are so fun for the kids. This is hands down a must do if visiting the white mountains!
This place is great. Mom and pop country vibe with panache.
The menu has all of the country classics done right, biscuits & sausage peppered gravy, chicken fried steak, ham steaks, hash, etc but then you'll be happy to see some really fun ingredients being used in other dishes like the watermelon radish in their salads, and the quiche is definitely next level.
We were there on a Sunday for breakfast and were pleasantly surprised with live music as well.
Serving sizes are huge, easily shareable, but that might be hard because every dish we tried was so good they disappeared fast!
Be sure to check out the fun saddle seats at the bar for an adult shake for dessert along with what might have been the best damn blueberry pie we've ever had.
Bertie's 2: The next meal...
One can not express just how great the food is here. Reasonably priced and a welcoming and friendly staff makes Bertie's a go-to place for me. The biscuits and gravy are nothing short of a hometown phenomenal experience!
And to Dana: There aren't enough people like you in the industry. Diamond in the rough! Thank you!
Exactly the type of charming diner you hope to find while vacationing in a mountain town. Those with negative reviews ought to consider slowing down and enjoying their coffee, literally and metaphorically. We loved our experience here (and met the lovely manager, Tim).
