The employees are in such a hurry our first experience was not good. I asked a young girl working what was in one of the ice creams because they don't have any descriptions anywhere of what is in them. She assumed that is what kind I wanted and after looking at other flavors she automatically handed me a cone with a scoop of one of the ice creams I asked what the ingredients were. I should have made her take it back, but I hate to waste so just stuck with that kind. The ice cream is average nothing special except the cool square shape. It was pretty good despite not being the flavor I would ever get. It is also in a gas station so I think the atmosphere is kind of weird, and this store would do better if they had their own location, just my opinion. The gas station ruins the coolness of the experience.
Fun place to stop for square ice cream! There is a whopper ball at the bottom of the cone to help hold in any melting ice cream. I thought that was clever! It is a gas station too of course. ????
World famous square ice cream hidden away in a small Idaho town. Souvenirs and Huckleberry goodies can be found along your normal C store goodies. Ice cream prices are reasonable and the staff are friendly. Definitely a family must visit location when we come for vacation.
Ice cream was good and my kids loved the “square” shape.
On 7/12/23 we got there about 20 minutes before closing and immediately after we paid, they turned out the lights and told everyone to get out. There was still 15 minutes left before closing. One of the female employees was rude to some patrons waiting to use the restroom and told them to get out and use the porta-potty. I’m not sure what the hurry was but it was very off-putting.
I've been here dozens of times and it's become a family road trip tradition to stop. As of my most recent trip, it is still a fun place to go get ice cream. All this stuff about rats and being unclean is fake. The staff is also kind and helpful. They even served us ice cream at 7am????. The store even remodeled Feb 2022 and looks amazing!
They have excellent square ice cream! Definitely a fun and different option. It was less than $5 for a single scoop and could come in a cup, cake cone, or waffle cone.
I'm not a fan this time, maybe due to the time of the season. But when you hear an employer reprimanded an employee with customers, I didn't buy. Was very disappointed this time and had been there many times in the past. So sad ????
Date 01/07/24 was an older lady as soon as she realized she tried to change her direction. It was in the afternoon I can't remember the time I'm sorry. I have always loved going there just the last few times haven't been pleasant and this time I was frustrated. Told my husband I changed my mind and didn't want anything. I will give it one more try when we head to Jackson if no change it will be a lost tradition.
Famous for Square ice cream. Friendly service. Decent selection, easy access.
We stop here several times a year.
