My husband and I found this place while waiting for the train. I was really pleased at our experience. It started with really good coffee, which can make or break a breakfast visit, in my opinion. My husband ordered the sausage gravy and biscuits and was thrilled with it after the canned garbage he was served in Chicago. You could tell that Berries makes it homemade, and it's delicious. I had the ham, bacon, and apple omelette, which was also tasty. The restaurant itself was clean and decorated nicely for the holidays. It was clear that someone goes out of their way to keep the place tidy.
Our server was just the sweetest, chatted up our 19mo old granddaughter who loved it!! The food was out pretty quickly and was hot and very good. The entire staff was very pleasant to be around, they all flocked to the little one, and I'm sure they do that to all the little ones who come in and that they all love it. We've been once before right after they first opened and it was great then, I'm glad they're still going strong and they have some really good food.
It's a great little restaurant downtown. The service was friendly and quick. The servings were huge. I had the Banana & Pecan Pancakes with Carmel drizzle. They were delicious.
While searching for a nice place to have some breakfast my boyfriend and I decided on Berries, we noticed the parking lot was packed so we knew something good had to be waiting inside. Immediately we were met with hospitality and kindness. The food was delicious and we even had the opportunity to meet the owner, Chris. He has crated such a welcoming atmosphere you feel like you’re having breakfast with old friends. What a wonderful family restaurant, we hope to visit again soon.
Just ordered the Irish skillet with pancakes and it was not what I expected, the corn beef was straight out the can and when I called back to ask them about if they always used canned corned beef the girl in the front told me that it’s not canned it’s mad fresh daily and sometimes put in ziplock bags. I know canned corned beef when I see it and you can’t tell me that they say and diced these potatoes this small. It was mushy and flavorless just like out of the can and I’m very disappointed I would have never spent $16 on canned corn beef. The pancakes are great though.
Best spot for breakfast in Kalamazoo! Large portions, amazing pancakes. Waffles are excellent, burgers really good too. The lot was full and there was still only a 20 minute wait to get a table. Well worth the wait.
Absolutely amazing!! Great food and service, couldn't have picked a better spot. My server was Laurie S, very nice and very good at her job. 10/10 all the way around
Go here! Best breakfast in Kalamazoo. And when you go, order that item you've been wanting to try. Don't play it safe, you won't regret it!
Still my favorite spot for breakfast. Had the Mediterranean skillet this time.
