The hotel is beautiful and clean. When I called to reserve a room, I was offered a first time visitor’s discount. We had a deluxe queen room with balcony. The room was spacious and clean. Beds were comfortable. Kitchenette area is a nice added touch. Pool was on the smaller side but there were only a couple of people there, so it did not matter. Breakfast was decent and the menu changes daily. Cinnamon rolls were good but had too much icing. The woman working in the breakfast area was very friendly and helpful.
Our first time in Berlin for a night getaway with kids ages 10 & 14. The room is huge, modern and immaculate! Staff upon check in was friendly and inviting, the pool is awesome and in the hotel sits in such a close proximity to downtown that we were able to enjoy a short walk. The atmosphere is updated, inviting and fresh. 5 stars all around! We will recommend to everyone we know and hope to be back!
Our 3rd visit and sadly may be the last. We checked in March 1st for two nights. Within 3 hours of settling in by 6:30 pm the room above us was making so much noise I thought it was a thunder storm. Stomping, running, yelling. We called the front desk 3 times asking that the customers be made aware to comply with common courtesy. Finally at 9:30 p.m. I called and said either this be resolved or refund my money and I am leaving. It was unbelievable. The person at the desk came back with "we can move you to the top floor" so at 9:45 p.m. we had to get dressed and pack back up and move to the top floor no where near the unruly customers. We are well traveled and have never experienced anything like this even outside of the USA. What was so frustrating was we as the compliant customers were penalized and inconvenienced rather than addressing the issue with the customers who were the problem. That was not the correct approach.|What makes this so bad is this is a nice property in close proximity to many of the dining and shopping opportunities. When we checked out I remarked on the situation and the manager never even engaged in the conversation. If we return to this area to see family we will be researching other hotel options. |Do better to future customers.
Absolutely GORGEOUS hotel, in a beautiful area! Staff is kind and welcoming. The rooms were very spacious and well kept. The pool and hot tub were spectacular. We ate dinner at the restaurant right next door (can't remember what it's called) and the food was great. They had a breakfast bar in the mornings and the food was pretty good, and they had a great selection to choose from. For the price it's MORE than worth it!!!!
The environment of this hotel is beautiful and provides wonderful hospitality and communication. The rooms are spotless and clean and the breakfast is amazing! I really enjoyed the pool room along with the hot tub too. The last time I was here was on new years eve 2020 for a little new years eve getaway with my family I definitely would love to come back here! Berlin Grande you are awesome! Keep up the good work!
This was our second time staying here. The hotel is very clean and welcoming. The pool and hot tub are wonderful, and it has a very inviting atmosphere to it. There is an Amish restaurant and antique store right next to it, and you are very close to all that downtown Berlin has to offer. |Just an FYI - this is a dry county, so if you are hoping to enjoy some wine, beer, or other alcoholic beverages, you will need to bring it with you or drive to a nearby county.

We have visited this hotel in the past and had a wonderful time. One of our reasons for staying here is the pool. However sadly at our last stay this past weekend my family swam in the pool the first day for 3-4 hours without issue a wonderful time. The next day we went back to the pool after entering the pool area within 30min. All of my 3 young children under 7 began to cough. I experienced shortness of breath my self. We noticed others in the pool coughing also. Friends of ours in the pool area also began to have problems with their eyes burning. After almost 45min. We felt it was in our children’s best interests and heath that we leave the pool area. At first not wanting to over think it or believe anything was wrong. Because we had experienced such a wonderful time the day before. However as soon as we left the pool area it was a considerable difference in air quality. I went to the front desk and talked to one of the employees and she seemed very uninterested in helping me or worrying about the issue. I explained that we had swam the night before with -0- issues but this day a horrible problem. She never offered to call a manager even though I asked for one. I left frustrated and headed back to my room. After being out of the pool area for about an hour all my children stopped coughing and my shortness of breath subsided. The itching eyes lasted for a couple more hours. The next day our skin still smelled of strong chemicals even after showering the night before. Our bathing suits reeked of chemicals. I did meet another family in the lobby that expressed the same issue with their small children. The manager did apologize but this issue is very serious and someone could have gotten very hurt. The day before all of us getting sick while having a pleasant time swimming noticed 4 different men (hotel employees) in the pool house checking the levels and taking samples in the water. No one told us of any issue with the water, nothing was posted on the pool room door. Whatever they did that night had a serious impact on our health and wellbeing in the pool. I write all of this as a cautionary warning to parents if you feel something isn’t right get out. Don’t wait as long as we did. Someone could have gotten seriously hurt or killed. I asked the manager to do a better job of training his staff to care when people’s lives are impacted especially those of children. Hopefully in the future if the pools PH or chemicals are out of balance they take the pool out of service or tell the customers what they are doing so something like this never happens again. The rest of the hotel is very nice and clean.
Update : the manager did call me and was very apologetic and listened very well to my issue and concerns. He was very kind and wanted to make sure next time my family would be taken care of better personally by him. My comment will stay so that hopefully if something like this ever happens again people might see a pattern to hopefully further deal with the issue. Again I cannot say enough good about the hotel, my only concern was for the front desk staff and the chemical issue with the pool. They also kindly comped one of my day stays. So I believe this hotel and its managers will do better going forward. Great customer service and feedback from staff. Since the ordeal.
