Chris walked me through the preventative maintenance services on my C300 4Matic and E350 convertible. He started by explaining how he did business and was extremely helpful in explaining the details of the work required and he even coached me through how to do some of the work myself. I contrast this with Gordon Chevrolet who charged me $400 over the cost of a Suburban re-manufactured transmission along with the $5,400 repair bill and then didn't give me quotes on body work and new tires as requested. No wonder places like Chris's are successful.
I’m not a fan of doing this, but I tried calling in for a quote. I understand people can be busy but customer service and proper expression of oneself goes a long way.
The pricing - phenomenal (reason for the 3 stars)
The attitude - caught him while he was busy and it showed (reason for the 3 and not 4)
The payment system - cash only (now as someone who has ran a business before I understand the want for cash influx vs credit card and having to wait for clearances and x y z or even having someone scam you and charge back) he states check but in essence you better bring cash because short of asking for you social security number he wants to verify you. Seriously like almost rub a background check on you (reason why 4 not 5)
I am willing to pay Mercedes’ the extra $120 just for the warm and fuzzy feeling of knowing if something gets damaged I won’t be hit with a it was already on its way out.
I understand now that google reviews are dangerous. Thank you for teaching me that Chris.
While driving through Jacksonville Beach my 2008 S550 4matic transmission started acting up. I immediately took it to the dealership. They told me that my transmission had failed and it needed to be replaced. The car still moved and a $18k repair bill was outrageous. Fortunately, I was recommended by a friend that had her Mercedes serviced at Benz Trendz to have them give me a second opinion. I called Chris and he was very understanding and was able to get me right in. Chris is a factory trained master Mercedes tech that opened his own shop. Extremely knowledgeable too. He scanned my car, looked at the fluid and recommended replacing my valve body, changing my fluid and updating my transmission software first. Parts were ordered and the next day I was driving in my car with an extra $16k in my pocket. Its been two months since the repair and it shifts as smooth as it did when I bought it now. I want to publically thank Chris and Benz Trendz. Superior service!
Chris is a real pro. He helped us out with a convertible top issue on our E550 cabriolet. Now the sun is always shining! He was courteous and informative, and we left feeling like it was a great experience.
Doesn't install Mercedes transmissions, doesn't know anyone that does either. I could've found a nicer way for someone to tell me to get F'd. Giving an extra star because I don't know the kind of work Chris does. We'll never get to that point. I'm sure he's great, take your benz to him. Just my personal experience.
I had an excellent experience. Chris was extremely thorough, diagnosed the problems I was having and helped prioritize the list of things that needed repair. The car we had purchased was used without a known service history. We knew that it needed work and we certainly feel like we went to the right place.
I took my 1989 MB 560SL to Benz Trendz today to get estimates on a couple of issues that I had. The owner Chris Brown apologized and said that because of their workload they could not work on MB cars older than 1999 (apparently parts are hard to come by). He then asked me what problems I was having with the car. He asked me to lift the hood, inspected the car, discovered the problem, fixed the problem and would not accept my offer of payment. He referred me to another MB shop for future work.
That is good "Old Fashioned" customer service!
If you have a MB newer than 1999, go see Benz Trendz. I don't think you will be disappointed.
