Best WLM Reviews

I was in Indianapolis on business and heard a lot of buzz about this restaurant. So, I went there last Tuesday evening. Elsa the owner greeted us warmly, and the staff was excellent. The food was amazing! Every dish was made from scratch with the freshest ingredients. Best Chinese food I ever had. I give this restaurant the highest rating. Can’t wait until I come back to town to have more high quality Chinese cuisine!
March 2024 Update! I was able to try new dishes during my recent visit to Indianapolis. As expected, the food was delicious especially the Crab with Black Bean Sauce. I tell everyone about the amazing food at Benyue and I look forward to visiting Indianapolis solely for the food!
We were passing through Indy and looked for a Chinese restaurant. Found this restaurant at the top of google’s search list and decided to try it. Dim sum dishes were overpriced, about $7 per dish. Unfortunately, ours’ were cold and tasteless. The char sui was tender and not too sweet, which fit my taste. The spicy fish fillet dish was really good. I think this one is off the menu, must ask server about it. There is and American Chinese menu, but we didn’t care to look at. Overall, spent under $100 for two people.
Also, 18% gratuity is automatically added to your check regardless of your service treatment.
I recently stumbled upon this restaurant while heading to the mall and couldn't resist the urge to finally give it a try. To my delight, the experience surpassed all expectations. From the impeccable service to the inviting ambiance, every aspect of the dining experience was simply outstanding. The crispy skin of the dishes was an absolute delight! It's evident that the authenticity and delectability of the cuisine are unmatched. Needless to say, I'll be returning here frequently, and I highly encourage others come try this place out!
I worked at a Cantonese restaurant for 10 years in Minnesota and after they closed in 2018 I have been unable to find a suitable replacement, until now. Everything we ordered was fantastic. The sweet and sour chicken was crispy but sauced beautifully (though a bit sweeter than other sweet and sours I have tried), the char siu fried rice was flavorful, the salt and pepper tofu was crispy and had perfectly seasoned onions and peppers (they also have salt and pepper shrimp if you aren’t a tofu fan!), and the dim sum shrimp rice noodle was also delicious. While I understand some reviews comments on service feeling rushed, everyone is extremely friendly and the food more than makes up for it.
Best Chinese food I've ever had in Indianapolis! I went with a large group, so we were able to sample a lot of different items from the menu. Every dish was rich, flavorful, and delicious. Our server never let the tea run out. We stuffed ourselves and had a wonderful time. Thank you, Benyue! PS quite a few gluten free, dairy free, and vegetarian options. Really nice for a big group if some folks have dietary restrictions.
What I loved about this restaurant is that it doesn't just serve your typical American style Chinese food. They have a lot of traditional options to choose from as well. My crispy pork belly was delicious. Mongolian beef was super tender. Calamari was unfortunately over cooked but tasted good. I look forward to going back real soon.
So lucky that Indy is finally getting an authentic and high-end Chinese restaurant! We went there as a group to celebrate my buddy's birthday and we went ALL OUT! From lobsters to lamp chops, Benyue did not disappoint and wowed us with entrees after entrees of delicacies formerly only available in China or major cities like New York or San Francisco. I will 100% recommend this restaurant to anyone seeking the real deal.
The entrees we've had from them are great. Best Chinese food we've had. Dim sum is fine. Service can be a bit... they're never rude, just sometimes a little more curt than Americans expect. It's best to order "family style" and share. They bring out dishes as they're cooked, so not everyone would get their food at the same time. While a little pricey, portions for most dishes are good, and we always have leftovers. Faves: Peppercorn chicken, Sour & Spicy Shredded Potatoes, Any garlic stir fried veggie, Squirrel Fish, Crispy pork belly. One of our favorite cold weather places - hardy food and nice cup of tea.
