Best KBFKR Reviews

I have been going to this salon for over a year. Everyone has always been so nice. I went and was supposed to get a perm from Ivana. Something wasn’t right when I left. My hair was wet so I had no clue how bad it was until it dried. My hair was fried. I had to go to another salon for treatment and have my hair cut. It’s going to take a lot of money, time, & stress to get my hair back. I called and demanded a refund $250 perm $50 tip and for the owner to call me. I waited until the end of business today to post this review. My phone never rang and I was not refunded.
My daughter made an appointment for November 12, 2022, at least two weeks in advance with April for a silk press. When my daughter arrived for her appointment, she was told April was in Gainesville. No one bothered to tell her this beforehand, and I find that to be unprofessional. Unfortunately, my daughter allowed another stylist to do her silk press on her natural hair, and it was puffy before she made it home. I’m writing this review instead of my daughter because I recommended April for the service and I know April personally. I have no doubt April would have done a fabulous job on my daughter’s hair, but because of the lack of professionalism on her part (not keeping her appointment), my daughter will not be returning to this salon. The stylist who attempted to do the silk press was very kind, but she doesn’t have enough experience working with Black women’s hair. If I had been at the appointment with my daughter, I would have told her to leave before the service was performed because that was a waste of $75.
Would not recommend for Black Natural hair- Avoid Silk Presses! Please avoid Salon/Ivana for hair needs- very greedy and dishonest!
Okay I tried to keep a positive attitude because this salon was the only thing available and near where I live after my original hair stylist couldn’t do my hair, but I can’t.
Since day one I haven’t been pleased with this look and have tried to hold it out hoping it’d get better overtime, but no! To be almost double charged the cost of the service (that I literally got about a month and a half for much less) for someone who’s less experienced on my hair evidently, more rushed work and less of a style- and, hair that hasn’t even lasted a week I’m annoyed!
Ivana did a suppose to be silk press on Saturday. Hair wasn’t even finished being dry whenever she started to straighten it. 1st sign of a rushed job. Hair looked puffy toward the near finishing product- had to request for her to cut my split ends- for her to even make the comment that it looks a lot better since the ends were cut (cause it wasn’t looking straight at all). You’d think she’d touch it up after cutting my split ends, but no! I tried to stay positive- she is a nice lady. However, honestly I feel like my birthday trip (which is why I got my hair done in the first place) has been ruined. I haven’t even been able to enjoy my hair since day one. Day 3 it was basically done for (this is with me keeping up maintenance- wrapping it, using my hair oil, and avoiding moisture). I’m sooo hurt right now.
Got charged $75 when I got it done at the same location with a different stylist nearly a month and a half ago. With a stylist who actually knows/knew how to do natural black hair, and even added/ knew to ask if I wanted silk curls. This time is was $120- like mentioned before literally almost ($10 short) of being double the price- for someone who made several remarks and showed explaining that they were less experienced and did a rushed job.
I could almost/ nearly cried writing this due to the extreme waste of money, ruined plans, and disappointment. This is suppose to be a salon that caters to all hair types- clearly that is not the truth. Silk presses typically last at least a week and a half up until 2 weeks with most hair stylist- 3 Days! 3 days- not even really. I’m sooo upset/ sad.
UPDATE: spoke with a worker to clarify $80 for the silk press, $40-45 for them to trim someone’s split ends- That’s Outrageous! For split ends?! Cutting someone’s hair from long to short (drastic cut) yes that’d make sense, but for a split end trim ????.
Also, I was reached out to by an employee via FB from their page, who said to contact management, who still has yet to respond after 2, nearly 3 days.
Definitely wouldn’t recommend! Avoid at all cost, especially as a Woman of color- talk about taking advantage of people’s hard earned money. That worker tried to say some hairs don’t take to silk presses, but as someone (myself) who’s had multiple done by different hair stylist- this isn’t it! This had nothing to do with the hair not accepting it as much as it was about greed and a rushed job! Please avoid! And, if you’re trying to get a silk press (as a woman of color) I’d say your better off going to a different stylist.
My stylist, Lea, was an absolute perfectionist and the results clearly reflected that. My highlights are exactly what I wanted. The salon is beautiful and clean. The atmosphere and energy in the salon is so upbeat and welcoming. I have told everyone I know about the amazing experience I had and the amazing hair I have now.
Shavellynee did a wonderful job and gave me a perfect hair cut. When I walked in I had no idea what I wanted all I knew is what I wanted out of the hair cut. She seemed to pull the hair cut out of thin air and it is amazing! She was personable, friendly, and was gentle with my hair compared to other hair dressers I've had. We will definitely be coming back!
Bella Michelle Salon is hands down the best salon I have stepped foot into. I love the diversity of staff and customers. The atmosphere of love is set by the staff between one another. They make you feel like it’s your second home. Every time I have walked in, someone always addresses me. Location is perfect. Super clean. Due to covid, they make sure that there clients are first screened with a very quick questionnaire and temperature check. They educate you every step of the way. They genuinely care about you hair more then taking your money. My stylist Shaniqua have helped me tremendously with doing a big chop. Ever since then, my hair have grown so fast due to her professionalism. I love that she really gets to know you. She makes sure to inform and educate you on what products she is using and why she uses them. Before she uses anything she make sure you come to an agreement first. Every time she had given me a trim, she informs me first how much she will trim off.
Absolutely love this salon! The ladies there are so friendly. My stylist Larissa ???? ???? hands down did a fabulous job on my hair. Plus great conversation makes the experience even better. If your looking for a new stylist I recommend visiting Bella-Michelle Salon.
If I could give 5+ stars I would. Beyond excellent work and atmosphere at Belle-Michelle Salon! Beautiful new location and the skills that the girls have there blow away any Ive had since coming to Florida in 2010! I came in with damaged hair from 2 years ago with multiple try’s at fixing it with no success. Angela, the top artist that I came to see (after seeing her display of work on Facebook) was an absolute professional! She READ my hair while she was processing it ... seeing it needed something more and re-went through each foil and added more to heal my thirsty hair. She even stayed late for me. My job was bigger than expected but she handled it like the professional she is and stayed till it was done! She did an amazing job. I’ve not seen that type of commitment and skill since coming to Florida! She listened to me & my hair! Angela gave me such depth & demention all while healing my dry damaged hair! I’ve had such a bad journey and multiple salons to fix my hair and I never left feeling this good! I have finally found my Forever Home!! Lol! I won’t go anywhere else! My husband loved it too!! Can’t wait for my next appointment and the new things Bella-Michelle Salon will offer in future! I’m a lifer now girls!! See you in 6 weeks!!
