We loved every single dish we had for our anniversary dinner here! The server was very accommodating of my partner's severe allergies, and we didn't regret a single menu choice all evening. I will say that the service/kitchen here is very slow, so don't expect a fast meal, but food was hot and delicious when it arrived.
We ordered the cheese and fruit plate to start, as well as the she crab soup for me. Both delicious! Then we followed it up with the pork and the short rib dishes. Portion sizes were on point and the very thick pork chop was perfectly cooked! The short rib was also flavorful and well balanced. We finished the evening with a complimentary anniversary chocolate from the kitchen, as well as an order of the apple toffee cake to share. I've already recommended that my parents check out this spot when they next visit Virginia Beach!
Went here to celebrate a birthday and it was an amazing experience. We sat in the garden because it was summer like weather in the fall and then there was wedding band music playing and lights shining from the garden. It was magical outside. The service was professional, prompt and attentive. Now for the best part the food! I had the catch of the day fish and it was so delicious. Not heavy or too light and loved the mushrooms for texture with couscous. The popover was a bit heavy for me but I was hungry so I’ll give them a pass. The short rib was pretty good too. Overall I would come back and recommend this place but sit in a different spot in the garden.
I took my mom out here for her birthday. I intended for this to be a brunch date, but I learned upon arrival that brunch is only served on Sundays lol SO we had lunch.
This restaurant is located inside of the beautiful Cavalier!
Parking - It’s valet only, but it’s $5 and you pay and tip after.
We sat in the back of the restaurant where the most naturally lit seating is! Great atmosphere.
I browsed all of the menus and the lunch options were my least favorite ???? the food we ordered didn’t disappoint though. Sean J., our amazing waiter, had great recommendations!
We had the lobster bruschetta for an app.
My mom had the herb roasted French dip and I had the braised short rib chasseur.
My mom LOVED hers. The short rib was delicious, but could’ve been seasoned better. The dish also has lots of mushrooms so if you love them, you will love this dish. If you are like me and hate mushrooms, make sure you ask them to not include it ????.
The service was outstanding from beginning to end. Sean was always a step ahead! He had our check prepared without us having to wait. I told him it was my mom’s birthday and he acknowledged her every step of the way!
I certainly recommend coming here!
My husband and I are lovers of all things Virginia Beach. It only made sense, to visit Becca. Becca is located within the Cavalier Hotel down in the Oceanfront. Upon arrival, you are greeted by friendly and professional hosts. The restaurant is a combination of Martha's Vineyard, meets South Beach. If you know, you know!
We waited less than 2-minutes before we were escorted to our seats. We did not favor the initial seat selection but they were kind enough to oblige our preference. The new seating gave us the ability to take in the beauty of the restaurant.
Let's dive into our experience. The drinks were divine as was the food. The menu gives you a broad selection, which equally caters to a vegan and carnivore palette. I enjoyed the Bourbon Glazed Salmon and my husband chose the NY Strip. Both dishes were cooked to perfection, with exquisite plating, fit for a Michelin star. We quenched our thirst with some of their signature cocktails, and completed our meal with the Creme Brûlée.
I can go on and on about this amazing restaurant. However, it would be my hope that you take my word and create your own experience.
[S/N: Valet is reasonably priced and well managed. We had our car in less than 3-minutes]
Best breakfast we had in Virginia Beach! Hubby had the Belgian waffles and bacon. He’s picky about his waffles but these received his approval. I had the shrimp and grits. The shrimp were succulent and the dish overall tasted great. Loved the tomato-based sauce. Service was good. Waiter was very friendly but he was over-extended with a large party. Ambience is A+
It was typical Saturday evening, no holiday. Our waiter JD was the best, knowledgeable about the meals and menu, patience, and never let my wine glass empty. The host, can’t remember his name, very friendly and helpful. We have Salmon/medium shared, Short rib/super tender; garlic parm fries is fresh and seasoned, must try dessert sampler, and apple crisp. The place is historical and seasonal/ Christmas everywhere. Overall visit was satisfying and definitely coming back for more.
The Cavalier is absolutely gorgeous and this setting for breakfast just perfect. I was a bit disappointed by the lack of flavor for my Cavalier Benedict’s Hollandaise sauce, no lemony tang, a little under salted BUT the eggs were cooked to perfection, the spinach, tomatoes and crab were plentiful. The home fries (potatoes) were a bit well done for my liking BUT at least they had just the right amount of seasoning. Staff was friendly and service prompt.
If you care about the quality of the entire dining experience INCLUDING the process of making reservations to enjoy a meal at this seemingly lovely restaurant, don't waste your time or money at Becca's at the Cavalier Hotel. I had plans of taking my family to Becca's to celebrate my wife's milestone birthday. I started with a personal visit to allow my wife to tour the venue...SHE ABSOLUTELY LOVED the decor and overall atmosphere, who wouldn't. We met a very kind young lady at the reservation table outside of Becca's who informed us of all of the requirements for making a reservation at the restaurant (which were ridiculous by the way; a LOT of stipulations and hoops to jump through including a $300 reservation fee and a $1,000 F&B minimum depending on the size of the party). Despite that, after sleeping on it, my wife elected to make the reservation for her birthday dinner. This is when the process fell completely apart. In the days to follow, we made numerous phone calls and sent a number of emails in an attempt to make dinner reservations. After going a week without a response from anyone, we decided to make a special trip down to the Hotel to speak to someone in person about making dinner reservations. This time, we were greeted by a young lady who was not only curt but also misinformed about the reservation process and she provided us with information that didn't align with what we had been told at our previous visit. Not only was our frustration level elevated but we had very little confidence that the reservation that we made on site was going to be honored. We had planned to bring a party of 15 for this event but the process of making a simple reservation was so off putting that we are strongly considering another venue for this important event. I left Becca's feeling like they simply didn't want or need my business and although that's fine, I wanted to share my experience with others who may be considering spending their hard-earned money at this establishment.
