Best WLM Reviews

Bebe is one of the most unprofessional shop owners in Boston.
1. She overbooks her clientele and she’s over a hour late to her first appointment EVERY SINGLE TIME. She doesn’t care that clients are outside waiting in the rain or snow.
2. If you make an appointment with someone specific please be aware she’ll sit you with whomever is convenient, which usually isn’t a great outcome. On top of that they’ll rush on your hair. God forbid you want to see the braid quality of the random lady she sat you with.
3. She’s on the phone the WHOLE appointment and expects you to help pass her the hair. (I don’t like that I’m not here to work).
4. The women at the shop are not welcoming what so ever they barely look at you when you walk in as if you’re not patronizing their business.
This isn’t just my experience at least 3 of my close friends have had the same experiences. To sum it all up they don’t respect their clients. We’re just a quick dollar. If you’re feeling desperate go ahead but you heard it here first.
Please don’t go here, bebe the hair salon owner is rude and very unethical. Long story short. I sent her a picture of how I wanted my hair, and although the braids were neat it’s not the style I wanted. She kept combing my hair with the little rat-tail comb and its pulling out my hair! I could already tell with how she was parting my hair that it was coming out wrong, when she started off the braids I said the braids in the picture are thicker and I told her I wasn’t feeling the braids after she did the left side of my hair. I gave her the opportunity to finish my hair before I can judge the style but I did not like it. So I told her she didn’t need to finish it. she called me rude and I replied “I’m rude?” She TOLD ME TO SHUT UP! She was very upset telling me to leave THEN SHE SAID LER ME TAKE OUT MY WORK, I told her “I’ll do it” and she took SCISSORS AND START AGGRESSIVELY, PULLING AND TUGGING AT THE TIGHT BRAIDS TO CUT THE EXTENSIONS OUT MY HAIR AND SHE CUT MY HAIR AS I WAS PULLING AWAY, I told her I’ll do it because I seen how mad she was, SHE SQUEEZED MY HAND AND PUT MY HAND DOWN. Then she started to get more unprofessional and CALLED ME UGLY, and that I had a BIG HEAD and I’m messing with her money AND I HAVE NO CONFIDENCE IN MYSELF! SHE SAID MY HAIR WAS UGLY! then she started talking and yelling out in her language. ILL NEVER RETURN! Definitely making a complaint.
For ANYONE that’s looking for single braids go to Mary! EDDY B’s! Their wayyyyyyyy better than this place when it comes to doing hair ????????????????????????
I've had my hair braided at this salon twice as well as both of my daughters! We've used different stylists and loved each of them every time. The owner is quick to respond to inquiries and super flexible with scheduling. Below are pics of my fist time and my daughters first time at Bebe's African Hair Braiding Salon. Our appointments were two months apart and we both kept them in longer then two months. We felt incredibly beautiful with our braids! I just got mine done again yesterday so I will update with additional pics soon! I would highly recommend this salon! You will not be disappointed!
Drove 45min for my appointment that was scheduled for 10am. She didn't start my hair until 11:23am. Almost 9hrs sitting on that hot, unsanitary sweatbox. Not everyone had on a mask, and the lady doing my hair did no sanitizing before I sat down or between clients
Some white woman comes in with her son. The person doing my hair stops and sat me to the side so that she can do the kid's hair and make a quick $60. Mind you; I was paying her $300 and she was running behind because she started late.
3 different people ended up working on my hair at various times. The braids are sloppy and not neat in the middle of my head. They were not plaited equally, as you can see in the picture. They left knots in my hair, broke off my natural hair.
It is unsanitary in that salon, and they do not follow safety guidelines. They pick the hair up off the dirty floor and put it in the head of customers. The same dirty floor people walk on with shoes that have been on dirty surfaces outside you can think of.
The customer service is horrible as far as communication goes. Instead of her consulting me about the size parting I wanted throughout my head, she took it upon herself to do what she wanted to do and expected me topay$300 for it. Absolutely not. Her reasoning was because 1. Timing(her fault for starting late and putting my hair off to do someone else's) if time was an issue, then she should've started on time and 2. What her other clients can and can't handle(well, I'm not your other client's, and you should've consulted with me before doing a botch job). I was there from 10:10am-6:55pm, which is absurd.
They get away with poor customer service because black women need their hair done. As a first time client, I am flabbergasted in the way they serviced me today. This is another reason why it hard to advocate for black businesses because the service sucks.
No, I would not recommend this place, and I will not be back. This was my 1st, last and only time coming here. It's almost 7pm by the time I left. I refused to pay $300 for that service and gave her $260. I don't care what other women allow from them; I WILL NOT ALLOW them to do me any kind of way and still take my hard-earned money. Just Awful. Do better
Only giving 2 stars because my hairstyle came out pretty decent. Can’t say the same about the service though. Firstly, when you walk into the salon, NOBODY greets you. They just stare at you & wait for you to say something. Not very welcoming, especially since it was my first time there. Second, I have 4c hair, keep this in mind. Somebody made a review about this exact salon saying they’ll make you feel ashamed of having 4c hair. I came in with my bonnet, and once I took it off, the owner (bebe) literally laughed. Guess the person who made that review wasn’t lying. Third, they literally play in your hair like it’s nothing. They detangle extremely aggressive. Even when it’s not as tangled, they tug at it. Also, they comb from the roots to the end instead of the other way around. Combing from the roots can cause breakage. Fourth, this salon is just unorganized……everythings all over the place. I’ve had an awful experience and I won’t ever be coming back. Treat your customers with respect.
Here is my honest review and why I’m giving Bebe’s African Hair Braiding Salon 1 star:
1. They say they provide hair but the hair they provide looks like they’re using whatever hair is left over from previous appointments/clients. The hair they used looks very lackluster and not fresh/new. I recommend that they start using better quality hair that doesn’t tangle when being braided through because the braider kept getting the hair knotted while braiding and yanking the knots through and having to cut the knots mid way.
2. Because there are different braiders the outcome of your hair might come out different (good, decent, or terrible) depending on who is doing your hair.
3. Overpriced - they overcharged for a style that doesn’t even look like it’s going to last 1 month. Due to the low quality of braiding hair they provide and how loosely the braider braided my hair already looks a month old.
4 my hair is natural but I’ve been to other stylist and they were gentle. At this salon, they were heavy handed - not just with my hair but also with the braiding hair (which again was poor quality). If you’re trying to be gentle with your strands this might not be the place to go.
5. Poor attention to detail - I tried to trust the process but in the end was disappointed. While doing the finishing touches the fly away hairs weren't properly trimmed. I’m looking at my hair now and there’s still fly away hairs sticking out from the braids. Also the braids are braided very loosely and each braid is not the same length or size throughout. The braids look like a beginner did it and I would not have paid more than $150-$180 for them.
Hopefully the owner of the business can take constructive criticism and improve on the things I’ve pointed out.
This is my 3rd time getting braids here and it’s going to be my last.My appointments have never been on time and I’m not sure if she hates working with natural hair textures but pls blow out your hair before going there.
Blessing kept pulling on my hair because she didn’t brush though the extension before using it.My hair was natural and short but braidable. If she wasn’t prepared to deal with my hair she could have made me aware before accepting to braid instead of pulling on my scalp to remove knots from the ends of the extension because she didn’t brush through extensions before using it!
I like the quality of their braids but good customer service is very important.Do better!!
I am utterly disappointed with the service I received from this salon. The owner showed extremely poor professionalism, and customer service. I am very appalled with the way I was treated. They completely lied about a hairstyle that they couldn’t do. Please save your money, time and sanity.
