The owner of this store is very nasty and shovanist.He hires young women of color only to degrade them and treat them like pawns. My daughter worked there and it was unbelievable the disrespect that came from the owners mouth.I have made a report to the better business bureau. We have to teach our children their value and demand the same respect you give.
EXPIRED PRODUCTS. I started applying a relaxer that I got from this beauty supply store and something told me to check the expiration date because the relaxer has a marshmallowy texture not the normal texture. Never going here again. They need to do better inventory!!!
The employees were very helpful and the store was fully stocked. There's so many things to choose from! I love this place and I always get something related to make up, hair dye, hair products or earrings.
This is my go-to since it’s the only one nearby. But their prices are way too high. If you go to Walmart right next to this store, they sell the same products like hair dye or gel $2-$6 cheaper. I only come here if I absolutely MUST.
Out-dated hair, wigs, & products
The hours of operation doesn't cater to folks coming during the evening. They shut down at 5:30 pm. You can reach the times of business for Charles County, P.G. county or DC. which they all possess multiple beauty supplies stores. This is the ONLY beauty supply store for people of color in this area and its limited on items. We have to leave the county to get items we need. Sally & Cosmo doesn't count or Ultra beauty!
Worst experience ever today!!! It’s so upsetting because i come to the Beauty Spot local business at least once a month and I spent a decent amount of money in products. Today, the owner not only followed my daughter and I around today, but he accused her of stealing! I had him run the tapes back several times to show me why he assumed such nonsense and he could not prove anything! We are not Thieves and I am extremely disappointed and dissatisfied with the experience we encountered. Even the young lady working in the store apologized for his inaccurate accusation!!!! Words can’t express the anger and embarrassment I feel right now. My family and I will no longer support this local business and I will let as many people know the unfair treatment that was exposed by the owner of Beauty Spot!!!
I’ve been living in the area for about 3 years now and I try to avoid patronizing this store when possible! It’s shameful that each time I visit this store, I have an issue. The owner will follow you around the store as if you’re trying to steal when he’s there. This last visit I was followed by one of the employees as I was selecting hair for braiding. I watched her move to the next isle pretending to straighten up the relaxers and gel products. Soon as was done and moved to where she was standing to grab hair gel, she moved and walked back to the front of the store! I’m a hair braider and I spend no less than $100 when I visit this store, and experience this treatment each and every time!! I’ve had enough, and will just take the drive to Waldorf for products, because I’ve never had them treat me this way! It’s crazy because this store is twice as expensive as other beauty supply stores, and their inventory is very limited and out dated with the little they do have!
