Best WLM Reviews

My friends and I were there to celebrate our vacation, we arrived a little late and they still received us with a lot of respect. The waitress was incredible, she recommended us some cocktails and explained the menu a little. The kitchen was super fast and everything was delicious to share. It definitely doesn't have such a high price for the quality of food and comfort of the place. 100% recommended.
I went to a wedding reception and absolutely loved the food! The wait staff was great and the atmosphere was fun. However, it was super dark and kind of loud. You almost had to yell to have a conversation with someone across the table. If you go, I highly recommend the Tuna Poke Wanton Tacos, Yellowtail Crudo, and fried Brussels sprouts. Also, DO NOT skip out on their signature dish grilled cheese, smoked bacon and tomato soup dumplings.... you will not be disappointed!!!
A must have meal when you’re in Vegas whether for an intimate dinner or a larger group! The entire experience at Beauty & Essex is fabulous from the ambiance (dark, cool, speakeasy vibes) to the service (attentive and helpful but never too pushy) to the food itself. Served tapas / family style so you can try lots of dishes and share. Best bites not to be missed: tuna tacos, little French dips, grilled cheese dumplings, scallops, and the dessert Ferris wheel. Even the Brussels sprouts side was both interesting & delicious! Speciality cocktails are a must try too: the pink panther (spoiler alert: not pink) & gimlet were favorites. Definitely going back again!
The restaurant is very aesthetically unique, but I wasn't completely satisfied with the food. My friends and I were recommended by our server to share the dishes. Most of the table ordered plates with meat, while 3 of us, including myself, ordered from the vegetarian/vegan menu. We ordered a tofu dish with papaya coleslaw, brussels sprouts, and cauliflower tacos. We liked the cauliflower tacos the best, but they were very tiny (literally bite-size). The brussel sprouts were good and were actually shareable, as we were able to have multiple servings. We did not like the tofu dish; it was cold to the point it tasted raw. The papaya coleslaw on it tasted better. We relayed our feedback to the server; he was open to sharing it with the chef for improvement purposes. All the staff members were very professional and polite. For the price and size of the food, it is quite pricey.
To start, for most other restaurants this would be a 5 star meal. But this is one of the highest rated and decently accessible fine dining establishments in Vegas and my expectations were in line with that. I'm disappointed to say it was underwhelming.
The Good:
The service was impeccable, absolutely on par with fine dining. We were celebrating a birthday and everyone from the hostess to our bussers and even the manager knew it, and made sure to offer well wishes. The restaurant itself was beautiful, interesting but not over the top and I love the speakeasy like entrance.
Our lamb was perfectly cooked, we got the chef recommended medium rare and we were very happy we did. The ahi tuna in the tacos was also perfect.
Everything was presented beautifully, and portion size was good. Nothing too miniscule.
The birthday cake pop dessert was very very good. A flourless chocolate cake with ganache, served with whipped cream. It was honestly the best item of the night and I was so full I didn't eat a while one. This cake should be on the menu.
The Decent:
Their grilled cheese spoons are the signature app for a reason. They are very good. The presentation, while fun and eye catching, was difficult to eat. It's impossible to get the entire spoonful at once and that leaves a decent amount of tomato soup to eat without the balance of the cheese and bacon. And it's very sweet without those things. Actual shots would be easier to consume, but obviously not as striking visually.
The bone marrow was good, onion jam was lovely, grilled bread was great. Solid dish, not amazing.
Strawberry shortcake shots were lovely, well presented, yummy, solid with out being exceptional.
The Meh:
The lamb chop was, again, perfectly cooked, a decent portion but the polenta was not complementary. It was creamy and well made but overwhelmingly rosemary, which I normally am a big fan of. There was no balance.
The ahi tacos/wantons are slightly small and you absolutely need to add a squeeze of the lime in order to have a balanced bite.
The asparagus side was not bad, the preserved lemon was a welcome twist, but my goodness, they must not trim the stalks at all. I should absolutely not bite into the end of one and not make it through because of how woody and fibrous they are. I wasn't able to eat at least an inch, if not more, from any piece. That is completely unacceptable for a restaurant of this caliber.
The drinks on the signature menu were so very sweet. I asked about a couple of them and went for the one that was described as much less sweet, almost like a martini, and it was still so syrupy, I didn't finish it. This is a personal preference in drinks so I have to say that the others in my party found the drinks fine, but if the other drink I was thinking about was much sweeter, I can't even imagine how sweet it was.
All in all, it was a fun evening and not sad about it, but for this type of price point and caliber of dining, they need to step their game up.
Had a great time at this restaurant, the food is very good, the decor is great and the service was excellent. I really liked the tomato soup dumplings and the donuts for dessert. The menu had tons of interesting options and I would happily return to try more of them.
First time dining here and the service and food was amazing! The portions are a bit smaller but our server recommended 4 items of the menu and that filled us up. You must try the soup dumplings.
I wish I caught the name of our server because she was so great. But we had a great time here. The food was SO GOOD I cannot even believe how good it was. I’ll definitely be back here. I don’t think you can go wrong with anything on the menu.
