Best WLM Reviews
Stopped by on a Wednesday afternoon after a long hike. Ordered dine-in Taiwanese beef noodle soup and garlic butter shrimp from the kiosk. Got confirmation of order on my phone, and it was ready in about 10mins. Soup was a bit salty for my taste buds, and shrimp lacked some seasoning. Has plenty of searing. There weren’t many people there, so it was nice and peaceful meal time. A Quick grab-a-bite and go.
My family and I love this type of food, but quite honestly this place in big bear is way overrated prices are ridiculous for the ramen soup not quality!
Spicy wontons was decent!
I would not recommend this place but if you don't know any better you might like it..
Located in the village. We stopped by for an early dinner and was empty inside. I ordered a whiskey shoyu ramen with crispy tofu. Spouse had the miso ramen with grilled chicken since pork belly was sold out. We ate inside, however it felt a bit stuffy and had lots of flies around. I enjoyed the crispy tofu as was made fresh. Ramen had a lot of noodles and toppings were good, however felt the broth for both were okay.
Came in for some tasty ramen. Came full and happy for tasty ramen. Gonna come back the next time I'm in Big Bear. Was pleasantly surprised there was a ramen noddle shop.
This place is getting a lot of conflicting reviews, either 1 or 5 and that probably makes a lot of people confused. One thing to realize is all food in Big Bear is overpriced almost like at an amusement park. So you’re practically paying a resort town tax which means the price of food isn’t necessarily reflective of the quality. This isn’t a 15$ dish it’s more like a 10$ or less somewhere else down the hill.
A bigger problem that has happened twice now is there are not enough seats when it’s busy. What are you suppose to do with a hot bowl of soup without anywhere to sit? Are you suppose to stand in the middle of the restaurant just holding it? They may have to hold off on new eat in orders until there are seats available.
They will try to tell you to order at the self ordering Kiosk which is fine unless you want to modify your order. Don’t want onions or want to change something - you can’t.
Another issue is there is going to be an inconsistency because of the lack of reliable staff in Big Bear sometimes the stores, especially this one are not open when they say they are.
That being said I enjoy the food and have been back 4-5 times. There isn’t really many other options for this type of food besides Dynasty Chinese food (great) and a new Pho place that just opened (okay-good)
I don’t eat meat so I can’t comment in the quality or taste but the crispy tofu is really some of the best I’ve had.
I would recommend eating here but definitely temper you expectations especially when it comes to the price. It’s like that everywhere up here. If you want the best bang for your buck go to Oakside. The prices there are justified and the service is stellar.
I think that is what is accounting for the mixed reviews - the price. Again, it’s like that almost everywhere in Big Bear.
They have some kinks to work out but it’s a great addition to the village and mountain.
The service and interior are great. The staff were nice and also pretty efficient. Unfortunately the food was quite bad. People were raving about the pork belly and the popcorn chicken so I got both, and both were unappetizing. The chicken was very hard and the pork belly was completely dry. Neither were tender, even though I ate the food right away.
Shrimp was delicious and place is very clean. Drinks are great too.
I do have two suggestions though. The noodle bowl meat seemed very greasy. Also, the music being played was not appropriate and changed the vibe in the place.
Didn't appreciate the cussing, N word, and B word every other sentence. I understand trying to be hip for the younger crowd but this is not the way.
Ordered take out at this new place in Big Bear. Recommended by a friend and she was right. Very flavorful, no need to add anything to the dishes as presented. Take out was placed in good containers and plenty of silverware and napkins were provided. I love ramen and will be coming back.
