We were searching for a new breakfast place and decided to try this one in Arlington. We arrived before 8:00 AM and noticed a line forming, which was a good sign. Upon entering, we were greeted by old-world charm and vintage Louisiana decor. We ordered caffe latte, a seasonal strawberry scone, a praline scone, Hungover Hog (Bayou taters, BBQ pork, country ham gravy, soft poached egg), and Salmon Toast (Seeded Honey Grain Toast, lemony-chive whipped cream cheese, everything spice, house-cured gravlax, baby watercress salad, radish, lemon-chili vinaigrette). We found the praline scone better than the seasonal strawberry due to the overpowering lemon flavor. The Salmon Toast was okay, and the Hungover Hog was unique. Overall, the menu items were similar to other breakfast places, but some items like Hungover Hog and Beignets were unique to the Bayou area. The staff who took our order was friendly.
I grabbed brunch here for the first time, and the staff were cheerful, helpful, and patient. I ordered some hot food items as well as some Bakery sweets. Everything was delicious, including the iced Hibiscus Ginger! I will be back for more!
I wasn’t really impressed or inspired from this bakery and cafe. It felt very stereotypical and doesn’t embody the bayou spirit. I don’t want to say I was disappointed, but compared to the other cafes in the area it’s average. Perfect for jumping in, getting what you want, and dipping out. The staff was absolutely amazing, bubbly, patient, and knowledgeable about the menu and beverages. I had ordered after a tremendously difficult customer and still received immaculate service. Kudos to them, gave a big tip.
A charming and unique place the sit and read, chat, or maybe do some work. The beignets were fresh and flavorful, and well priced. Coffee comes in a mug if it’s a regular size and it was good. I only saw once gluten free bakery item (cookie).
Note: Know they don’t allow laptops on weekends to keep more tables open. It can get crowded easily regardless, and you may have to wait to make/get your order.
A busy but amazing coffee shop that is more along the lines of a breakfast/lunch spot.
You have to try the beignets! Love coming here, space inside fills up quickly however there is outside seating available. The breakfast and lunch menu is great, also the coffee/drinks are delicious.
Loved this place, it's probably the best Louisiana/New Orleans themed spot I've found outside of Louisiana. The beignets were great and I'll definitely go again--my only complaint is that the avocado "benedict" has none of the elements I would associate with a benedict (it was still good, though).
Nice spot for an eclectic menu with southern influences. From scratch sausage biscuit, beignets, hearty salad all good. The cream cheese croissant did not work for me. The decor is really cool
This place is an absolute gem in the DMV. They have great breakfast, lunch sandwiches, and coffee. This time I went for breakfast and got the tater tot bowl with a poached egg and avocado. The must try on their menu are the beignets, they make them fresh and they are oh so delicious. The service is always nice and quick and the inside is cute. The theme is New Orleans so for Mardi Gras they decorate.
