My husband and I came to town in order to let him say goodbye to friends and family. We found out that he has colon cancer that is too far along to truly treat. After 4 days of being there we were informed that we had too many visitors and was not allowed to rebook our room. So we had to leave to find other accommodations and another facility. There was nothing posted anywhere stating that one was not allowed to have visitors or the amount of people that were allowed to visit. I'm truly disappointed the way the hotel treated this issue. If they had a problem with someone having visitors why not speak up before blocking them from being able to rent a room again. Also after housekeeping took my towels on the second day I was never replaced towels I was told they didn't have any. I was handed to washcloths and two foot mats to use as a towel for my shower. At $80 a night that is total lack of linen. If they are that short of towels they should have already stocked up before they found out that they were that short. You laundry woman left before the job was finished. Totally unprepared for having guests. I had to go spend money to buy towels at the hotel should have supplied.
Now I can say that the hotel is conveniently located. There are restaurants in walking distance. There's a food Lion as well as a roses in the same vicinity as the hotel. There is a bank right next door. There's also a bowling alley right next door to the bank so it's in walking distance.
They also have a pool but of course it was an opened. They only have one entrance so there's only one exit to the parking lot. The fence surrounding the hotel has been knocked down.
They are pet friendly. The showers have good water pressure. The Wi-Fi does work.
Now when I went to check in I was told there would be $25 early check-in fee as well as a $25 late checkout fee if I chose to do either one. The front desk clerk was too busy on the phone with his earpiece to actually communicate with me. I had to wait for him to finish his conversations.
Great location, not too far off the interstate. Near shopping and food. The desk clerk was wonderful. (That is the end of the good stuff!) The room is at least five years too late on renovation. It needs rehab now. The floors obviously were mopped with dirty mop water. The fridge leaked and left a 2 foot around puddle by morning. Breakfast....only if you are a carb-a-holic. $100+ for such is highway robbery! Not again!
The AC was set at 61 and room was freezing! Limited wash clothes, hand towels and towels, one towel was dirty. Floors felt wet when I took my shoes off, got into bed and the sheet felt wet, humidity in the room was terrible, everything was wet. I turned the AC to dry to try to dry up the room. The sink facet leaked. It was so cold in there we turned the heat on to warm up and dry out. Only a sheet on the bed and very thin top cover. I walked from sink to bed and my feet left dirty foot print on the bed. I didn't feel bad that my dog jumped on the bed with dirty feet at this point. Broken furniture, marked up dry wall and holes in it all over, bath tub/shower was dirty and hair all over it, I took a wash clothe and cleaned the tub out and shower before having any of my family use it. The shower curtain was dirty. All linens probably just need a good bleaching run through a washer! The shower pressure was AMAZING though, the nice hot shower was the best part of our stay after cleaning it though! Needs a very good cleaning throughout the whole room. Wish I had some cleaning supplies with me - didn't think we needed to clean on our vacation though! This place is called Baymount by WYNDOM - which is a timeshare company and I bet they would be appalled to see how terrible the place was, doesn't need new furniture if it was just clean. Cost $115 for one night stay which included a pet fee. There were signs for continental breakfast but my husband said there was no way we were eating here if the room is not even clean. We informed the front desk that the room needed a good cleaning, and they should refund us back some of our money as we felt it was so dirty. I have to call on Monday to speak to someone I charge of a possible refund. They would not give me a first name of who I needed to talk to, policy not to give out names, but would not take my name and phone number to give to the one that would be in charge of that, room 200 was right next to the stair well and was easy to get to, and parking was good. Back yard was big, litter all over though, fence is down laying on the ground. The gal on last night was very friendly, kind and professional, Wendy.
Please for your sake, stay away. I was put into a room, the room still had pieces of soap and hair in the tub. There was rings around the tub, toilet and sink. The manager walked us to another room and it was so bad that he said lets just go look at another one. We took the 3rd room. Wasted water on the floor and used the towel to clean the floor and the towel was disgusting afterwards. Pulled blanket back and there was hair and bed bugs. The manager came and said oh that not bed bugs thats something else. Then proceeded to try to put us in another room. No sir. We are leaving. Unacceptable. He said why wont u go to another room, my response if the first 3 was in poor condition, why would i try a fourth. No way im taking bed bugs home with me. He said well im not giving u a refund. Ok Went and got a room at the holiday inn.
Positive: Only good feature was the shower . Negative: The room was dirty and the bedding was stained. The bedspread had long dark hairs all over the top.Was happy I brought my own pillow and blanket. Towels were stained and the bedside lamp was broken. Would not recommend it to anyone !!! Avoid at all costs. Disgusting rooms. Spiders on the beds, there is a broken AC unit, with mold. Plastic fork down the bathroom sink. Drug dealers outside. Yelling everywhere. Absolutely horrid conditions.
It was a clean basic property which was expected for the price we paid. The only concern I had was the outside doors do not not go all the way to the ground so little creatures could come in on the ground floor. The internet signal was off and on which was somewhat frustrating but the beds were comfy, the location was great and the property was very clean and secure.
Bed bug bites are on my wife and I arms and neck after staying in this hotel. I actually saw one crawling across the pillow. I recorded one crawling across the bed. I also found hair in the bed. The ceiling was pilling from water damage. The TV was broken. The staff moved me to a different room but I could not get comfortable. I requested a refund but didn’t not receive one. Plus they doubled charged my credit card. ||I am a real person this is not me being mean. I AM WARNING YOU TO NEVER EVER STAY AT THIS HOTEL….Ever!
