We stayed at this Days Inn on April 6, 2024 while we were traveling through on our way to San Antonio for the solar eclipse. We were a little reluctant to stay here because of the negative reviews, but we did notice some reviews mentioned a renovation in progress. We decided to take a chance. Turns out the entire hotel is under full renovation and there is a new manager as of one month prior. When we pulled into the parking lot, we were pleasantly surprised to notice that everything on the outside was redone, and the landscaping was nicely trimmed, and the grass was mowed. When we walked into the hotel, it was very obvious that it had been very nicely redone. We were placed on the second floor in a completely renovated king room. It was very nice! There was one minor issue because the hair dryer did not work, but that was not a big deal as we were just passing through. We reported that to the front desk and it was taken care of. We honestly don’t have anything bad to say about this place. We had a new room that was nice and clean, and the staff were very friendly. We would definitely stay here again!
The check-in was quick but the desk clerk was having her dinner right at the desk in plain sight of customers. She called my husband “love” a total of 4 times which was totally innocent however a bit much- once would have been enough to show her southern friendliness. We stayed in room 105. The linens in the bathroom were stained, fuzzy and unmatched. The toilet and tube were not clean. The shower was somehow leaking water onto the floor , although i could never determine how! The bed had no bedspread only a top sheet. Older hotel, lobby dark and dated. Room furniture and fixtures dated, all of which could have been overlooked if room had been clean. Great parking and within walking distance to restaurants. Very limited continental breakfast was tasty!
The carpet was damp and filthy. There were blood stains on the sheets. Everything was sticky. The remote for the TV was missing and I cringed every time I touched the filthy counter and TV to turn on/off, change the volume and/or channel. The tile floor looked as if it had not been mopped since the last guest. The tub was slimy and the toilet was not bolted to the floor. They do provide Dove brand toiletries, which was nice.
Upon arriving, the lady was nice and took care of the rooms. Unfortunately, my guys went into their room, but it was already occupied. My room looked ok, but there was no way I was stepping one toe into the bathtub. I'm almost 60, and I have never seen a tub that dirty. It did scratch off, so it could be cleaned. We left right away ! She did say that they were not going to charge us.

This hotel needs demolishing. Very nasty and the A/C smelled moldy. There was mold in the room. Stains on the bed sheets. The 2 chairs in our room has stains all over them. The mattress you could feel the springs. My 9 year old daughter complained the next morning of her back hurting from the mattress. I wouldnt recommend to my worst enemy.
Positive: Nothing it was a very unpleasant experience for what I paid Negative: Everything there was no elevator it was a good 5 min. Hike to anywhere. The bed was not made the tub in the bathroom was dirty there was no snacks in snack machine, they wasn't even plugged in. Not to mention there was no breakfast. Oh and the phone was n Negative: ""
As soon as I arrived, there was nobody at the front desk to check me in, for about 15 minutes. I even went looking for someone and couldn't find any employees. I decided to return to the front desk and wait. When the woman arrived, she apologized and stated she was dealing with a room leaking water.
There are no elevators, so if you've packed heavy, keep in mind you'll have to lug everything up stairs if you've got a 2nd floor room.
The upstairs floor was very warm and humid on the way to my reserved room. There was a slight mushroom like odor, which in my experience, indicated mold/mildew on the property. The bed was OK. The hot water in the shower worked good. I did not like that the older air conditioning unit in my room would not stay on, even when set to constant. It seemed to only work on auto, coming on and going off in intervals. The couch in the room was broken. There were just dirty, out-dated items among the space.
The main draw here was the lower price, and probably the rate I recieved as a Wyndham Rewards Diamand level member.
I couldn't say that I would "recommend" this place unless you're on a really tight budget.
Sewage smells hit us in the face as we entered the lobby. I was glad my husband had not unloaded the luggage. The lady behind the desk seemed puzzled by the smell and asked if it was a food smell. Absolutely not! It was a sewage smell! She was nice though and didn’t charge us for the room we had reserved. I will update this review if it turns out we are charged. This may be a temporary situation but for us tonight it was a big no.
