Other than being a little outdated (which they are in the process of updating) I have no complaints during the time of our stay. The staff were all super friendly, & helpful. Our room was clean, and I felt safe. Pets are also welcome which was another plus. So overall we were pleased with our visit.
Family arrived and occupied 3 rooms.|This is what we experienced:|1) Strong chlorine smell filled one of the rooms continuously.|2) Noisy air conditioners.|3) Creepy crawlers (bugs) in the bathroom and bedroom area.|4) The refrigerator was filthy and barely cold. Glass shelves had pills that had never been cleaned up. Very sticky.|5) Ceilings had paint flaking off, walls, ceiling, and lampshades were dirty and stained.|6) EVERY metal hinge, drawer pulls, door frames, etc. were either rusted or corroded.|7) The floor was filthy. Bare feet and/or white socks turned black after walking to the bathroom and back. |8) The commodes were small and low and appeared to be child’s models.|9) The bed stands were made of sheet metal and sounded like cymbals when accidentally kicked.|10) The TV picture in one room was grainy.|11) The breakfast bar was basic and lacking in variety and quality.|The desk clerk was courteous and helpful as we checked in. The beds were clean and well made. But overall the rooms were extremely sub-standard. Our family arrived on the weekend of the ECU graduation and rooms were at a premium. Therefore, we had no choice but to stay as every hotel/motel in the area was booked with no vacancy.|We will NEVER stay at The Baymont by Wyndham again after our experience.|Hopefully, someone in management will take charge of the situation and make the necessary changes and improvements.
Fair price, great value. Management is engaged in the property, the staff was well trained. Service level in the morning and for breakfast attendant was excellent. Post stay communication was clear and prompt. Thank you for the stay!
Don't stay here, it's a dump. My room smells like Marijuana, I didn't see any roaches or bed bugs. Floors were nasty, ac unit made a horrendous noise all night. Their free breakfast consist of cereal, bagels, and yogurt. The room rate moves up and down more than the nasdaq. As of writing this review, the price is $75. I paid $150 since it was graduation weekend.
We stayed one night while passing through town, with our 2 dogs. The staff was very friendly and check in was easy. The pet deposit is very modest. We stayed on the ground floor by the pool, which made walking the dogs easy.||||The room was perfectly adequate. It wasn't fancy and it was one of the rooms that had yet to be updated, but it was clean, neat and fine for our needs.||||The bed was very comfortable and we really liked the sign for our door saying that we had dogs.||||I also want to mention that the front desk staff helped us significantly as we had made a 2 night reservation but ended up having to leave midday (11AM) on the morning after we checked in - and they made it super easy and also didn't charge us for the extra night.||||I would recommend this hotel and I would stay there again.
The beds and furniture were nice, i guess? I didnt have any problems with the furniture, though the remote and tv had very low quality and was a bit laggy. The main problem we had was plumbing problems because the toilet would take FOREVER to finally go down and it was just piss. The next thing was the water pressure inside the shower and the sink. ATLEAST the water was hot. Then when we got in the room the air conditioning was on 61 and the room miraculously was 77 degrees...please dont book last minute.
Negative or neutral: Needs updating & repair; they are working on it. Toilet roll holder out of wall, vanity light flickering even when “fixed”, toilet clogged, a few calls to get that fixed. NOT dirty though could be cleaner. Other people said was an unsafe area - neither my husband or ^felt unsafe..^Woman walking alone or with small (protective) dog.
Positive: Lots of hooks, storage space, places for electronics, bedside wall lamp w small spotlight attached, great service and staff. Nice bath/shower area w toiletries provided. Nice pet area (though far away & be careful where you step, many people are NOT cleaning up from their dogs)!,
