Best WLM Reviews

We stayed two nights on our way round New England. The accommodation was very spacious and clean with very comfy chairs in our room. The bathroom was minute with definitely only room for one! A big contrast with the room!! |The breakfast was plentiful and it was possible to take it back to our room on pretty trays. We enjoyed it! |This was the friendliest place ever and the owner was very chatty and helpful. It is obvious she likes people! While we were there, she was hosting a supper for her neighbours in the business & when I remarked on it, the next morning, she said we could have joined them! If only we’d known! ||It was quiet and peaceful with pretty gardens. Although just off the road, we were not troubled by traffic. Also a good location for the State Park & Camden nearby and restaurants in Lincolnville a couple of miles away. I would recommend it as a clean, economical place to stay!||||
Cottage was cute, cozy, well-decorated, and clean. Our cottage didn't have a TV, but that really wasn't a problem because we can watch TV at home. Bed was reasonably comfortable, bedding was fresh, but pillows were so uncomfortable. The bathroom wasn't huge, but it was clean and met our needs. There was an adorable porch with seating, which was a nice touch. Breakfast was basic, but fresh. Would stay here again, but would bring my own pillows.
We only stayed in a cottage for 1 night, but we were very impressed by the accommodations. Frankly, our little cottage was adorable! It was tiny, but we had plenty of room for the night. The cottage was clean, well designed, and well maintained. The bathroom was very small, but we had all the space we needed. And the bathroom towels were not your usual hotel quality... they were very nice. There was a continental breakfast, with all the usual suspects, plus hard boiled eggs and cheese. I would stay here again!
We stayed in cottage #2 , which is lavender themed. Our cottage had a very spacious bathroom (actually bigger than the bedroom) , a cute & comfortable bedroom , and a small kitchen with dinning table & 2 chairs. The kitchen had small stove and conventional oven, mini refrigerator, coffee maker , microwave, toaster & utensils. We wanted aluminium foil for grilling and the office staff was gracious to provide us some. Over all cottage#2 was tiny but comfortable for 2 people. I think there are bigger cottages available if u r staying with family.||Our cottage had a ramp as it is wheelchair accessible but didn't have chairs unlike other cottages in the property. But we had brought our own fold-able chair, so we enjoyed our coffee on the deck/ramp. ||They provide very good breakfast with lot more options than usual (soup noodle, different types or bagel & breads, boiled eggs along with other usual items). Bf area is very clean, staff are very friendly and the response is very prompt. Our kitchen oven was not working and help reached within 5 min. Wifi was pretty fast.||Overall the experience was amazing.
The cabin we rented was really cute. Although it is a two bedroom, the bedrooms are separated with walls that do not reach the ceiling and therefore any noise can be heard easily throughout the cabin. The walls to the bathroom extend to the ceiling but again sound carries easily and the bathroom is right off the kitchen. It is decorated quaintly with a sea shore theme. There is a stove, fridge, microwave, toaster and I think a coffee maker - though I didn't get to use any of these items. Dishes, towels and dish soap are all provided - though the warnings about needing to reimburse the hotel if any of the towels or bedding are stained seem a little draconian. The wicker couch and rocking chair were uncomfortable and the kitchen table had only 3 chairs (the cabin sleeps 4) and wobbled. There is a nice deck with 2 deck chairs. With all that being said, the location is perfect. Equidistant between Belfast and Camden and right next to a lovely area with a lobster pound. I would definitely stay there again. Expect functionality not comfort or luxury, go with people you know well and take full advantage of the things to do in the surrounding area.
We stayed for 2 nights. We loved our little cottage, it was clean and well maintained.. It was very relaxing. The continental breakfast was good. Staff was very friendly and helpful! We would definitely stay there again! It had an “Old School” charm.
Be aware that the office is only open from 3-7 in the afternoon with some hours in the morning for checking out. If you are going to be late, call first. Also, if you book through a third party, such as hotels.com or something, you are likely not going to get the room you think you reserved if it is during a busy time. Our room was supposed to be 1 double, 1 single, and 1 sofa bed - as advertised in the photo and stated in the e-mail confirmation. The room we actually got was probably a queen and a sofa bed. There was not a fitted sheet for the sofa bed. The sofa was also lifted up on risers that needed to be taken off so that the sofa bed laid flat when opened. In addition, be aware that housekeeping doesn't happen every day. If you want clean towels, you need to go to the office to get them. When I asked about changing to a room that fit the description of what I reserved, I was told that they were fully booked. As for the other reviews remarking on the small bathroom, yes, it is tiny. We were in the motel building, so I don't know how this compares to the cottages, but we will not plan to stay here in the future.
We’ve stayed here once already this season and we are going back. The staff is amazing and accommodating, the cottages (we’ve only stayed in one so far) are adorable. If you’re looking for a luxury hotel with all the bells and whistles, this isn’t it. This is a relaxing, clean, quiet, tiny cottage that is perfect for a weekend getaway. I see reviews about the sizes being an issue or the age of the place, this isn’t a Marriott or Hilton resort, it’s for people that love charming, quaint places that they can relax and enjoy their families and the area. I will continue to visit the Bay Leaf Cottages and recommend them to anyone looking for a quiet, peaceful place to get away from the city!
