Best WLM Reviews
My first Ecuadorian restaurant experience. The spacious store has a modern display that creates a comfortable feel. I said the steak was delicious, but today I tried Ecuadorian food. It wasn't bad, but I didn't have much fun with it. However, I like the friendly staff and the spacious store, so I plan on eating steak next time.
An amazing Ecuadorian place to bring la familia! Great atmosphere and great food. Ecuadorian/Latin food at it's best. You can watch sports and celebrate a birthday!
Me and my family come to this restaurant at least once a month, today we received the worst service from Angel C. Before giving our order to the waiter, I asked for separate checks; the waiter Angel told me that it could only be split into two checks, which I agreed to. When it was time for the check, the waiter Angel brought a single check and told me that I had to make the sum and pay my part, that they couldn't make two checks for one table. LIES!, we always ask for two separate checks and they have never given us a problem.
After a long discussion, I asked to speak to the manager but the waiter, instead of leaving and calling the manager continued arguing and accidentally hit my son in the head, not enough with that he had the audacity to call me rude “GROSERA” - what it’s wrong with this guy? This whole situation could have been avoided if Mr. Angel had left and called the manager as soon as we asked him to, but no he had to stay and argue back to customers. Definitely the owner needs to pay attention to who he’s hiring cause the food can be delicious but if the servers don’t have any respect and professionalism why bother to open a restaurant?
The only positive thing wa the manager Ana, very kindly she was able to separate the checks and despite having a terrible time, I agreed to pay the 18% service fee that is automatically included in the check, which I find absurd because then the waiters don’t make an effort to provide service and They treat customers badly since they know that the tip is already included.
I also work in the restaurant industry and I have never insulted a customer no matter how rude they have been and we also don’t include the service because the service is given and in exchange for spectacular service comes the tip.
I hope the owner reads this comment and trains his staff better cause they have a toast system and they don't even know how to use it, unbelievable.
I am from Guayaquil Ecuador, the food is fantastic, caldo de bola, ayacas etc.. Service is good too, but the excessive noise from the music is too much, you can hear nothing. You don't eat like in restaurants in Ecuador. They said some people like to dance in the back of the restaurant, then put the music in the back, It's nice to eat with a little music, but no like this. Place can be at the next level, but the loud music limits its level.
Barzola Ecuadorian Restaurant is a hidden gem in Jackson Heights, Queens. It's a small, family-owned restaurant that serves up some of the best Ecuadorian food in the city. The menu is full of traditional Ecuadorian dishes, all made with fresh, authentic ingredients. The service is friendly and attentive, and the atmosphere is warm and inviting.
Please don’t eat the Seafood in this place. I ordered some shrimp and found that it was not cleaned. The waiter and the back kitchen tried so hard to persuade me that the shrimp had to many veins. I worked as a chef for 5 yrs in a seafood place I pretty much know how to clean one.
I guess it’s a system that the waiter has to go through to remove a plate. It took almost 30 minutes to find a manager to remove it.
The place was cool when I went inside after a while it because so humid that we seen ants and roaches come out of the mini AC adapters.
I notified the waiter about the insect but she ignored me and said when she finds a manager she will notify.
Don’t do it don’t go to this place if you want to end up with a internal virus.
I love soups and tried soups in many places but I can say the Chicken soup here was so so so good. You must try it!
Also the lentils were very good , perfect flavor and seasoning.
Also the avocado Salad was delicious
The service was as well good, everyone was kind. The waitress spoke Spanish and English and also was very kind to accommodate my requests. Overall a top experience.
Came from Chicago to try some Ecuadorian food as I am Ecuadorian and always down for some really good food. I looked this place up and I saw the reviews which were great. The food was really good, but unfortunately the service was horrible. My kids, husband, and I were waiting for a while to get any type of service then we finally got some water after 10/15 min. We then ordered food and a drink from the bar and the food came within some timely manner but the drink never came. The drink never came so we asked to cancel the drink but then 15 min later the drink finally came once we were done with our food but it was delivered by someone else other than our server. The server was then busy and never really came back to check on us. I asked a lady that was wearing an all black suit if we can get the check. It’s took 10 min for that as at this point I timed it. We then asked again to the person that thought us the drink and finally they brought us our check. Overall great food, service isn’t good, and it’s very unorganized.
